  1. Tire Rumble/Howl?

I've had some aggressive treads that were actually quiet, the Patagonias come to mind. Some were very noisy like the Coopers my Aunt runs on her Ranch vehicles. It just depends on the design.
  2. Ford EcoBoost Carbon Buildup Issue Solved Via Walnut Blasting

You must drive a lot to have put 105K on it. My 2019 now has 38K on it. Did you buy a 5g Ranger in another country before they came out here ?
  3. HOT PEPPER RED Ranger Club Thread

Snake Gulch, south of Fredonia, Arizona. Great rock art panels all along the 14 mile length.
  4. Does anyone actually use the Hotspot functionality?

I went with the 3 mo. trial subscription as I've gone on a few camping trips this summer. I just got back from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon last week, and was able to check e-mails, etc. with the hotspot. Sure didn't have any cell coverage up there. I doubt I'll go past the trial period...
  5. Ford EcoBoost Carbon Buildup Issue Solved Via Walnut Blasting

I doubt anyone with even 40K 0r 50K on their 2.3 is going to be having misfires or rough idle. it will take a bit longer. My 2013 Escape (2.0 Eco) was still fine at 100K, but when I traded it in for the Ranger it had 130K, and would idle so rough at a stoplight you could watch the hood shake...
  6. And then there are the vintage ford trucks

This old guy came to my yard sale yesterday in style ! Note the two auxilary cooling fans mounted outside the radiator. Makes sense for Arizona summertime driving. 1929 Model A
  7. Oil change

First change I did on mine I took the tire off and bought Ford Synthetic but it was like $11 a quart. Changed to Mobil 1 5w30 after as I can get it for half that. I'm not one to push changes with synthetic, every 5K is good for me. And I no longer remove the tire, just get the splash shield out...
  8. 10 months in and 20k.

I'm at 36K after 2 1/2 years. No issues except my battery needed replacing at 32K. Mixed mileage is staying around 23 MPG.
  9. "Lower all windows" from remote?

Most Ford vehicles can have Global windows enabled thru Forscan or Focuss. I tried to enable Global windows in my Escape thru Forscan and couldn't get it to work, then I tried Focuss and was successful, Apparently with the Ranger Ford decided to delete a $140 -$150 part that is necessary to...
  10. HOT PEPPER RED Ranger Club Thread

HPR does seem to change slightly depending on the light. I think it looks darker in overcast conditions, like the pics below. Another rare occasion when my Ranger is spotless.
  11. Yikes, just saw a new Tundra

Hideous isn't a strong enough word to describe my feelings on the body styles of these Japanese autos. The cheese grater analogy for the new Tundra is perfect. Most Japanese cars remind me of insects or bottom feeding fish. All of the manufacturers try too hard to make their pickups look like...
  12. HOT PEPPER RED Ranger Club Thread

Has Ford ever called it "Hot Pepper Red " ? I thought it was Hot Pepper Metallic. I've always thought of it as much more orange than red (burnt orange maybe ?) Most people that comment on it call it " a nice shade of orange".
  13. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

That's interesting. Maybe different results because of running different catch cans ? I have the UPR Dual. Also the big difference in humidity between Florida and Arizona. When I get more in the can, it is not only colder here (at least at night) but much more humid than normal for the high...
  14. Oil Catch Can. Yes or No?

I put my catch can in almost a year ago. When we have cold mornings here in the winter (central Arizona) I get a little tan sludge in the can (maybe a couple of ounces), but nothing drains out the rest of the year. I'd say if you live somewhere like Newark, Dayton or Detroit get a can, if you...
  15. Your Lovely Keyless Entry Set …

Global windows (all windows up or down when holding the lock/unlock of the remote) can be enabled on most Ford vehicles either through Forscan or Foccuus. I changed my Escape to global windows through Foccuus. But they cheaped out on the Ranger. It seems you have to order a new module for the...
  16. Support group for those without a tailgate damper

I could have used a damper back when tailgates weighed 150 pounds. The Ranger tailgate that I can lower with one finger ? I don't need a damper for that.
  17. Still Marking up Broncos +$ 30,000 At Local Ford Dealer!’n

I'd be embarrassed to be seen in a new Bronco. They look like Ford's version of an FJ Cruiser. I think they are ugly as sin. There, I said it.
  18. Upgrading my 18" OEM tires to AT tires, what is the biggest I can run?

I can't speak for the 275/70 but I have 265/70/18 on mine (it has a leveling kit installed). No rubbing.
  19. What features would a Lincoln version of the Ranger look like?

A Lincoln Ranger would certainly have huge tail lights like other Lincoln trucks and SUVs. Lincoln - Fords ugly cousin.
