The first thing I did was replace the factory tires. The Hankooks are terrible. The truck feels firmer and more controlled in all conditions with the Falkens. No complaints.
Whatever you do, don't get the Kicker speaker kit from Stage 3. They actually sound worse than the stock speakers. (no bass) I've upgraded many stock speakers over the years with good results. This was a complete waist of $ and I will eventually replace them with something better.
Just got back from Idaho with my Ranger. This thing did amazing in the snow! Was pushing through 1.5 to 2 feet of snow in some spots. I doubt the factory tires could have done as well. So glad I have the Falken Wildpeaks.
Thanks for the input. I don't think a throttle commander is for me. If I'm going to improve the truck, extra horsepower is welcome but not at the cost of reliability.
I've had my Ranger for 6 mos now and I've worked through most of the things that bother me about the truck. My biggest gripe now is the terrible throttle response and shifting characteristics. Is there a moderate TUNE out there that will help with this? I'm not looking to race the thing, I...
I've got the Bakflip F1 and I like it. The FRP material is very durable and won't ding. Appears to be pretty scratch resistant. I like the versatility but it is not 100% water tight. I get a few drips from various places in heavy rain.
I did recalibrate the speedo via FORSCAN. I did not notice a change in MPG but I honestly don't pay much attention to it unless I'm on a road trip. Most of my driving is in the city w stop and go traffic so I'm only getting 17-18 most of the time.
I've had my Wildpeaks for 3 months now. WAY better than the factory tires. Those and some Eibach rear shocks changed the way this truck handles dramatically. Running 35psi.
My 2021 Lariat didn't come with an engine cover but I thought the Lariats came with them. Did they stop including them in 21? That and the lack of bed hooks that cost $70 from the dealer are pissing me off.
Yeah, Ford got lazy with several details on these trucks. The under seat storage could easily be bigger and a split seat would make a lot of sense. Also wish the seat back would fold flat so you could stack cases or boxes on top without worrying about damaging the seat material.
