I to am appraching the 60,000 milestone, had a stutter and they reflashed the transmission and seems ok now, not every transmission is blowing up. Ford just sent me an extended warranty ad, never bought one, always just roll the dice.

I found that if I use the tune knob just a ckick or two, a blue menu bar appears at the top and will take me back to the Sync 3 home screen.

Get the recommended USB stick, go to the library or a friend that has a computer, download the new Sync version on the stick and follow the instructions to upgrade your Sync system.

I have done the updates with the truck parked and the motor running, parked with power on and hooked to a charger motor not running and the last update I did while I was driving. All worked equally well.

When doing the shut off the truck start the truck thing after the update, appaerently it is very important to lock the door with the door open once you have shut the truck off. Lights flash, makes strange noises. I also think the master reset clears out some memory that makes the update easier...

Ford chat told me I needed a new TCU, telematics something, the latest Sync version from Ford cured all the problems I was having and now is issue free. Don't think this is a hardware issue.
