I agree with the terrible design of the HVAC controls on the dash. It is almost like they totally ignored any ergonomic factors for visibility or usability. Most of the time I have to touch the video screen to bring the controls to the screen to be able to see what it is I want to accomplish.
I believe it can also be deactivated using ForScan to modify settings in the truck's computer. This method would require some equipment and software to accomplish but info on that is available here on this site in other threads. I don't have those links immediately to post with this comment, but...
I was going to get a personalized plate because I had one on my Trac but you canāt get a personalized DP plate. So, I went with the DP plate for the convenience of not having to deal with the blue hang card plus I saved the extra cost of the personalized plate.
My Ranger replaces the Sport Trac I had, so it is both longer and higher. The length is not a problem as it still fit in the garage. I do wish it sat a little bit lower. I donāt like step rails but I almost need them as it is a little bit of a stretch to climb in and I am 6 foot 1.
I am thinking too much attention given to the 25 mph figure. The original post mentioned it was on a 25 mph āroadā. The implication was the truck was going at that speed but that seems doubtful based on the photo of the damage.
I installed the tailgate damper this morning. It installed easily and works as advertised. I did have to buy a T50 Torx bit. My only regret is I wished it was a hidden mechanism like the F150 damper is, but is not that obtrusive and I only notice it because I know it is there.
That lock product looks interesting. My truck is a garage queen so probably not needed unless they also steal them from public parking lots as well. I couldn't tell from the picture in the ad exactly how it is installed.
I hear what you say, Phil. In my case, I leave the mirrors out as I enter the garage to verify my centering in the space, but then I move a little left to allow more room for walking between the truck and a nearby refrigerator and to eliminate banging either the truck or refrig doors into each...
My truck seems to be turning into a low mileage garage queen. Coming up on nine months of owning and just rolled over 2900 miles. Probably because the bride doesnāt like it. Too hard for her to climb into and the ride is too stiff and bouncy. So, we take her Sonata everywhere.
I guess that is...
I have noticed that effect on both my Ranger and my bride's Sonata. I am wondering if these vehicles with the auto collision avoidance feature 'always' provides braking assistance. I notice when I come to a normal stop, after the stop, the vehicles seem to want to start creeping and I have to...
I hope so. My bride's Hyundai Sonata is configurable to choose between 3,5,or 7 blinks. I chose 7. As soon as I learn how to use Forscan and get the necessary tools, I will be playing with those settings.
I 'almost' bought one of those for the Sport Trac I used to own. I finally opted to not buy as I didn't want the obstruction in the way every time I dropped the tailgate to load something in the bed.
Finally got the chance to install my flag motif letters over the āceramicā coating on my magnetic tailgate. So far, they seem to stick ok. I did have some trouble with the skinny narrow Middle fingers of the letters āGā and āEā. They didnāt want to stay laying flat. I ended up applying a single...
This thread seems to address three main complaints: sheet metal thinness, ride height and cruise control.
1. Sheet metal: I don't know how thin the metal is, but I got my first ding last night. I can't blame anyone as it was self inflicted when I open my door and hit the door against the mirror...
Greg,
Finally got the chance to talk with the detailed regarding the effect of the ceramic coating and the stick-on letters. He replied that because the coating provides such a hard and super smooth surface, it ācouldā have a small adverse effect on the adherence of the letters but it āshouldā...
