I am currently on a road trip (truck running awesome especially on 93 ethanol free gas…and Amsoil! ?) and I’ve noticed the OLM goes down 1% for every 100 miles.
Had an oil change done at 880 miles to full synthetic (OEM Motorcraft filter). Will have it changed at 5000 miles and every 5000 thereafter.
I don’t mind spending a little more on maintenance. I love my truck and want it to go ATLEAST 150,000 if not more.
My vote is 5000 miles or less for oil...
Aloha!
When I bought my Ranger I immediately thought I would use Castrol Edge so I bought a quart to have in case I ran low on oil.
A few days ago I had the oil changed and shop used Amsoil OE.
I’m about to go on a long road trip soon, chances are high that I’ll never need oil but ya never...
I do have an Exxon gas card (a lot of them around me) and I get good benefits from them…they even sent me a mug!! ?
However…going on a road trip in a week and I see BP has a Visa card that will give me .30 cents off a gallon for 60 days then .15 cents off after.
Tempting but the thought of yet...
I’ll have to pay more attention. I know that every time my truck would start right up no problem but some mornings there would be a more high pitched sound compared to other mornings.
I’m debating already next oil change to try Royal Purple…watched a FordBossMe video and he said he liked how...
Just had my first oil change…and yep…it’s an early one and yep…AMSOIL!! ?
anyway…they did reset the oil life monitor to 100%, but my app does not reflect such a change. Does it take awhile?
i think mine is off to the left a smidge also but I’m taking it on a long road trip in a few weeks…that should definitely give me the proper feedback.
Three things in life I cannot stand…snow, Bette Midler movies and my steering wheel crooked. ?
most people I know wouldn’t take it back but I would at least once. When it comes time for tire I will probably go to Firestone and get the lifetime alignment like I did previous cars…that way I can...
coming back towards Asheville however would you keep it in sport or tow mode better for engine braking.
every other car I owned was Honda Fit sized…easy to slow down ?
I should have edited better before I wrote the initial message…I meant going up and over the Blue Ridge Mountain via interstate 40.
I know coming down the mountain towards Raleigh is steeper than heading west.
the plan is to put it in tow mode then, but sport mode is sufficient?
As the title suggests from what I gathered from intel is best to use sport mode uphill and tow mode downhill for better engine braking even if I am not towing/hauling anything?
I am going on a road trip soon that will take me up and over the Blue Ridge Parkway. I know I can just keep it in...
I’m sure it’ll be several thousand miles but I’m no expert there.
Are you getting gas at the same place? Maybe try a different brand. I had a Kia Soul Turbo and it would run different depending on the gas I used.
