  1. New Ranger Owner / 2019 - 2023 Transmission Issues???

Remember that this is the place where Ranger owners come to whine; a group that is over represented here; while the majority us are doing fine. The Ranger is a fine truck; listen to your wife and enjoy it without worry.
  2. Cabin Filter Test - No Filter, Purolator Carbon, Wix Stock and K&N

It bears repeating that the K and N cabin filter is not approved by K and N to function correctly unless it has been washed with their cabin filter wash product, and re-coated with their cabin filter distillate. More succinctly, it does not actually filter the air if it is "washed and put in...
  3. Any way to turn off climate control automatically when auto start/stop is active?

A couple of points... 1)Waiting at a traffic signal for more than 5 minutes? I was an expert in traffic signals before I retired and I've never seen a traffic signal last longer than 140 seconds, but I have had dozens of people complain about a traffic signal lasting 5 minutes. A 5 minute...
  4. Hope i Didn't Just F-up But,,,

13.6L per 100kms with 2500m elevation change every day. Stock engine and drive train.
  5. K&N Cabin Filter QA

K and N is quite adamant that their filters do not work correctly without the distillate; so why are you paying 5 times the price for an inferior product?
  6. K&N Cabin Filter QA

OK, so I read that the K and N cabin filters are reusable, like all their other products, so I went on line to look at the process. First, they are advertised as being pretreated prior to installation, but they don't mention what they are pretreated with. Like their other products, it's...
  7. Tires/wheels input

Hello. I generally drive on highways until I hit the gravel road, then on gravel roads, and then 4x4 low to get that last 1/4 mile into the lessor used fishing lakes. As others have stated, don't go with mud tires unless you are offroading 75% of your miles. All Terrain are 90% there, and...
  8. Running trailer power with ignition off

Install a small battery inside the trailer with a small solar panel mounted on the roof. Lights will work anytime, including when the trailer is disconnected.
  9. Suspension Upgrade Advice for 2021 Ranger (King vs Rough Country vs Fox)

I have a 2021 XLT. Eibach 2.0 lift kit with an additional 1" block in the rear to maintain the rake. My tires are Toyo 235/80 r17 AT111, but I would suggest something wider for California. Something similar to this will allow you to drive comfortably on highway, drive quicker on gravel roads...
  10. What oil will you be running after your 1st oil change?

Royal Purple 5/30, becasue that's what my Ford mechanic uses in his personal F150.
  11. Snow Plow on a Ranger

They are too light to use as a plow. Buy a JD garden tractor with a rear blade and a front bucket.
  12. Tail light mishap UPDATE

My local Ford dealer price was $1450 Canadian.
  13. Tail light mishap UPDATE

I ordered on the Amazon.ca site but it shouldn't be a problem. Astra Depot. https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B0D6N12YY3?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
  14. Tail light mishap UPDATE

Just paid $185 on Amazon for a replacement right taillight. I had to move the electronics unit from the old unit to the new unit, and the entire installation took 10 minutes. The replacement unit was a perfect match, even the casting marks were the same.
  15. What did you let go to get your Ranger?

I got rid of my beloved 1999 Jeep TJ. When I turned 65, I decided that I didn't want to wade thigh deep in mud to hook up the winch any more.
  16. 235/80r17 on a 2021 XLT

Hello, having lurked here for a while, I found it difficult to find any pics and stories for installing 235/80 r17 TOYO OC ATIII tires. So here are some pics for you. Mile zero so I can't comment on them but they look great.
  17. Have my first issue with my 21 Ranger

After 3.5 years and 47k miles, I don't think that a shattered back window is an "Issue" with the 2021 Ford Ranger.
  18. Oil filter is stuck

I had the same problem. Having enough room to torque any strap tool, or even a screwdriver poked through it is the problem. I found that the the three arm spider tool, and a ratchet and extension was the answer. Just oil and snug the new filter and you won't have the problem again.
  19. Purchasing a used 2021 Ranger XLT

I have the same identical truck. I too bought a lease return last year with 15,000 kms on it. The truck was in new condition. I changed the oil, the cabin filter and the air filter and drove it for another 25,000kms to ensure that I was confident in it, and I am. I'm retired and use it for...
