Ya Alaska is no rules and also no real roads, they keep snow layer at all times. So offroad tires and studs seems better for deep stuff than pure winter road tires.

Aka what tires I could get away with in the winter without being the winter only variety I'll look into the ones you mentioned

ya really didn't wanna waste the money on winter only tires for 4 months just need them to be better since I'm upgrading to bigger tires already. My wife has the blizzaks so I knew they are good, but experience in the snow is still better.

I still think the kenda klever with studs will fit my needs, and from everything I've seen today in research you can take the studs out and run them even if they are somewhat chewed up.

You don't have to have winter tires to know how to drive in the winter haha, just alot easier.

but are blizzaks really better than just studded 3 peak hybrid tires? and you can just take studs out in the summer and run the same tires correct? Id rather not have to pay for a set of winter tires just for one winter, blizzaks are $$$

Never had studs before but it does seem to be the move up here in fairbanks, think the kenda klever rt I was looking st fit the bill with studs.
