I keep thinking about the turbo and the LED headlamps. I don't see a replacement LED headlamp as being a cheap item to replace, and saw a quote of over a grand recently on this board for a conversion unit. A turbo would simply just be expensive, period. A EW might be in the cards. We'll see.
I've seen this same quote of 300K units before. Do the math - at 450 units current top production per day, that's well over 650 production build days. If they could get production up to 600 units/day, you're still looking at 500 production days or a year and a half.
Endeavour, I hate to disappoint but that is one of the pet peeves everyone has about the rear seats on the Ranger. They do not lay flat, and Ford recommends that nothing be placed on them when folded down. Not what we were all expecting unfortunately.
I don't know. I'm thinking that they may help to get the dew off the mirrors which happens frequently further south in the winter. I guess I'm too lazy to wipe the mirrors with a towel.
I was hoping the same (as on our '16 Escape), and was why I had initially added it to the order. Hopefully they'll rethink this for MY2020 so that those who wait will have a nicer feature.
I had the same problem when I set up my account on my home computer (no truck yet). Tried to access it from the iPhone and could not get in. Reset the password and access worked. Not a well designed system..
That's great for your order, but there are a lot of us with retail orders that have been waiting for several months. Me personally since Nov 5th.
I suspect that some of these faster deliveries quoted are simply dealers modifying existing stock orders already in the queue to get a customized...
And to add, the changes would have to be inconsequential to the main build - mud flaps, keypad, maybe running boards, etc. Changes such as cab style, FX4 or drive train would require a new order to be entered (from personal experience).
Reception in urban areas that are close to the transmitter tower may not be the problem. Its the fringe areas where you may find that reception will suffer quicker with shorter antennas.
You're not the only one who still has faith in Ford stock. I'm in at a little less per share but still seeing the loss. The X-Plan savings is a bit of an offset and I'm hoping (like all other shareholders) that the stock will turn around with the changes made.
Ranger & Jason, I originally ordered a 4x2 with e-locker. I pull a boat, the primary reason I am buying a truck, and have seen full sized trucks sit and spin on the local ramps trying to get their boats out of the water. I didn't want to be that guy, so after second guessing myself for a week...
While the Terrain Management would have been cool to play with, and skid plates just for some added protection for the ladders occasionally found on the Expressways around here, I didn't want a stiff suspension and harsher ride for what will be almost exclusively paved road use. So, I did not...
Don't hold me to this, but I heard that the factory keypad operates off the vehicle battery, utilizing a hole in the door panel and tapping into the wiring harness. The one available thru Ford parts is a battery operated unit. Again, simply what I "heard".
My order includes the keypad and per the dealer, the DORA indicates it is a factory installed option. I'm fairly certain they can be purchased, installed and synced as a DIY thru Ford parts.
Cell phones are the single most item causing driver distraction today. I just took my driver safety course to get a discount off the insurance (available if you're over 50). The course stated that a cell phone call whether hands free or not is more distractive than texting or eating while...
There's another thread about shipping the trucks from the factory with high tire pressures. Dealers are supposed to reduce the pressure to what the door jamb states during the pre-delivery check. Your dealer (and a LOT of others) missed that step.
The tinnitus is one of the main reasons I didn't order the 501A. I can't hear a whining belt pulley anymore (unless others are really trying to pull one over on me).
