  1. Anybody planning to lower their 2019 Ranger?

And isn't that the reason they make running boards?
  2. Running tally of VIN #, order date and build date by Ranger5G member (2019 MY)

Probably scheduling based on parts availability schedule. If we had each order's information visible on the main spreadsheet on page 1 of this thread, I'm sure we'd see some correlation. That would be asking way too much to try to collect and keep updated.
  3. Water Wading Capability - NA Ranger vs RoTW Ranger

I think that is more for those who don't service the vehicle after driving thru water or for general safety reasons. It doesn't take much flowing water to cause a vehicle to lose traction / control. As long as the vehicle doesn't stall due to electrical system saturation, deeper water can be...
  4. Why 4x2?

I originally ordered a 4x2 with rear locker, Lariet trim. After a week of back and forth indecision, I changed the order to 4x4 with rear locker. I tow a boat and have seen a number of trucks having trouble trying to pull a boat out of the water, all 4x2. If there is a group of fellas around...

  6. 2019 Ford Ranger Reviews Compilation

Thanks for posting this video. First glimpse of my ordered color selections - HPR and stone interior. The combination really looks sharp!
  7. Tire Chains

The only reason I can think of is wheel well clearance in a full locked turn. For sedans and SUV's that are FWD, that is the only place you can use chains and gain any benefit. For those who have been to a drive and smile event, maybe they can add some info about how tight the Ranger turns and...
  8. Cloth vs Leather seat comfort

FYI to those thinking about aftermarket seat covers, there is a specific warning on page 43 of the owner's manual about not using aftermarket seat covers as they may prevent deployment of the side curtain air bags system. I had to look it up for the page number. I fish a lot and had considered...
  9. Here's all the Rangers already built waiting for delivery

The video does show led taillights, however the vehicles shown are pre-production run and will be most likely distributed to Ford execs. As they are not for retail sale, they could have any combination of different options on them that do not align with the p&b/order sheets. Based on prior...
  10. Here's all the Rangers already built waiting for delivery

This is also the first I've seen of the available mud flaps and they looked pretty good. I didn't include that option on the sales order. May have to have the dealer install or look for aftermarket.
  11. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Lrtexasman, that is a different listing from the owner's manual that I downloaded, but it lists the same data. In the owner's manual, it can be found on pages 210-211.
  12. Midsize Truck Comparison: Ranger vs Tacoma, Gladiator, Colorado, Canyon, Frontier

Ford HAS published the towing specs across all configurations in the owner's manual that is available online.
  13. 2019 Ford Ranger Owners Manual, Quick Reference Guide, Packaging Guide

I updated our 2016 Escape’s Sync 3 using a USB two weeks ago from v1 to v3. No issues; performed with engine running as per instructions. Note that the files you download must be extracted from the downloaded zip file onto a clean flash drive. The instructions on the internet will have you...
  14. 2019 Ford Ranger MPG is 21/26 (23 combined) - revealed in first window sticker

This is good news. I don't know about the rest of you but more likely than not, real world experience will be less that what the window sticker claims. At least that has always been my experience. That said though, it still beats the others.
  15. 2019 Ford Ranger Reviews Compilation

I have to agree with others - the demo driver offered a lot of insight on the transmission system and how it displays on the dash. Also of the rear camera zoom and front/rear object sensors. I also noticed the rear pocket on the passenger seat - no buckle like seen in another picture on this...
  16. Things I feel are missing/or needed on a Ranger

And for us down south (Florida specific), we'd appreciate offering cooled seats and a chilled steering wheel options. A steering wheel down here can be almost untouchable in a locked car, even in the winter. And be very careful when wearing shorts (or a skirt) and sitting on a black leather...
  17. Cars.com - We Test-Drove the All-New 2019 Ford Ranger (and You Can, Too)

I have not driven a vehicle with the new start/stop technology. I observed a pickup truck almost rear end a car at a stop light the other day. The truck had stopped in the line of vehicles at the light, then suddenly lunged forward with the driver immediately hitting the brakes. I wondered if...
  18. How does Trail Control work?

Administrators, thanks for correcting the thread title. I could not find a means to do so after having posted the thread. Also could not find a way to PM you to ask that you do so. Thank you. You can delete this post at your discretion.
  19. TireRack

Sometimes you cannot get special tires at a decent price locally. I bought a set of Eagle F1-GSD3s for the Miata ten plus years ago. Best tires that she ever had underfoot. Would have paid 50% more per tire locally. Just had to strike a deal with a local tire shop to install.
  20. Heated Seats?

If of the old "three on the tree" style :), they probably could not offer the sport shift where you can somewhat manually shift your auto tranny.
