Update: there are rubber flaps that span the gap between the bed & cab. They’re definitely the source. But, it looks like they’re aligned and installed properly. They just make a ton of noise. Seriously!?
It's a huge inconvenience for me to get to the closest dealer, so I'm hoping someone else has dealt with this before I make the trip.
There's something making a racket between the bed and cab (or sounds like it.) As the chassis flexes over rough roads, there's a loud creaking or squeaking noise...
The DI injectors are super loud in the Ranger. Even more so in cold starts, where it sounds like they're running in split-injection mode. Much louder than the RS. Or perhaps less insulated (even with the Lariat engine cover.)
Rotational friction is linear with engine speed. The faster you're spinning, the more drag you have. Thus, generally, higher gears yield better mileage.
But, with boosted engines, volumetric efficiency also tanks as boost increases. So you don't want to keep engine speed too low and boost like...
Eh, you might be right. If you check 501A on the online configurator, it adds the B&O emblems to the speakers, but then it says "Supercrew only." They should fix that. I could have SWORN the last time I built a Supercab it didn't sasy "Supercrew only."
They kinda had the wheels backwards in my opinion. FX4 should be a 17", sport appearance should 18". I checked the sport appearance package on my FX4 Lariat just for the 17" wheel. Better ride quality off road, and more sidewall when airing down.
You can get B&O and HD radio in a Supercab... it just has to be a Lariat.
B&O in the crew cab is adequate. I can't imagine the base stereo is any good.
You can get 17"s on a Lariat w/ sport appearance. LED headlights & fogs, touch-sensing doors, push-button start, and B&O are well worth the Lariat premium.
I don't think tire pressure is the true solution to the low speed shutter. I'm running 30 PSI all around and still get the vibration when doing medium pedal launches from a stop.
