FYI this is definitely a characteristic of the engine. Sure, the Mustangs may be less noticeable, but it's because they're calibrated differently. It's tied to temperature, as that's the primary metric that determines whether the injectors are running in split-shot mode, or single injection...
Well, I called the dealer that I bought the truck from, and explained that I expected there was grease in the heating element, and they seemed much more willing to investigate than the one by my house. That's promising at least.
Well, it may be "normal" but it's not acceptable. Ford has pretty high NVH standards... find me another Ford product that vibrates like this. Hint... there aren't any.
Bringing this back from the dead. My truck has the same issue. HVAC has smelled awful from day 1, always when warming, up. Took it to the local dealer... "we couldn't replicate the problem."
They couldn't find my exhaust leak either... The one that bubbles water out on cold starts and has shot...
Well, my truck wasn't built in this date range, but the HVAC smells like melted electronics. Almost makes me sick to drive it. Dealer says it's normal.
This is the Ford branded Bak Revolver X2 hard rolling tonneau cover. Used for about 4 months. Includes an unopened installation kit. I think I paid $930 with the employee discount. Switching up my rooftop tent setup, this one won't work with it.
$750 OBO picked up near Detroit
I can spell I swear!
I was under the impression that the "Ford" controller would be a re-branded Redarc, but it's possible something else is in the works that I'm unaware of.
Correct, the wire you tap into for the brake controller isn't the wire for the lights, it's the pedal request signal, which isn't live unless you're actually on the pedal.
I do agree that Ford could do better with the language. They haven't been good with Ranger material. Try following the Ford...
Both ACC and AEB will underperform in the Ranger while towing, compared to the other '18+ trucks, which will engage trailer brakes for both features. Nothing is broken, but Ford includes that language so you don't expect ACC & AEB to account for your trailer.
Yes, but the other people with those theories aren't Ford engineers who work on driver assist technologies, among other things :sunglasses:
EDIT: I should clarify, adaptive cruise works with Super Duty & F150 brake controllers, because they are integrated, and communicate through the vehicle...
When Ford says a brake controller can't be used with emergency braking, it means when the emergency braking system requests a braking event, it only requests ABS pressure to the truck's wheels, and will not request trailer brake activation as well. So, braking performance won't be adequate...
Just got a set of these in. The instructions are ridiculously useless. It’s like “mark with pencil, hit with hammer, look at it twice, repeat on other side.” Okay... thanks
Did you pull the fender trim off and drill underneath, then drill the trim at the same location? It’s so confusing.
