The spacers come with new studs. Unfortunately no one is making a proper hub centric spacer for the Ranger at the moment, so those are âgenericâ non centric. I dont really trust those so Iâm gonna swap them out as soon as I can for hub centrics once they come out.
The spacers are 1.5â if I remember correctly. I agree with you that wheel spacers arenât the ideal way to acheive this but keep in mind this is only my âwinter setupâ and wanted to keep the stock wheels to keep costs down. My âregular setâ are Fuel Podium wheels with -12et (offset) to get the...
Hereâs a few before and after pics of my project so far. Iâd say Iâm about a third to half way done.
Is it just me or do the stock wheels look damn good on this truck?
Not terribly happy with the way the fender flares fit with the front bumper, looks odd from up front. Guess thatâll...
I know right! I had a Jeep before too. With a 4.5â lift I was able to fit 37x12.5 with just bending the cab welds in the front fenders.
Itâs those damn new âcrash barsâ in the front fenders that are just way too tight on the tires. From what Iâve read the Rangersâ bars are âtighterâ than other...
Thanks!
If youâre talking about the flares. Canât say for sure if they needed to drill, if so would only be on inner fender to secure (???) But rest is just stick-on if I remember correctly.
Fitting those tires, with the spacers, was a whole other story though. Lots of cutting and triming for...
After seeing this thread I was initially pissed âcause I was told they were ârealâ rock sliders when I ordered them and for me real means bolted to the frame. But since there isnât anything else on the market right now and the company stands by their claims I might still keep them.
BTW wasnât...
Lots of cutting needed!
Unfortunately no time to install rock sliders. Will have to wait when I get my Icon suspension and summer tires/wheels installed in about a month.
Not the best picture but will try and post better ones this Sunday (out of town tomorrow).
hereâs the textured ones from Ford/Bushwacker.
And with 285s on stock (sport) wheels and inch and a half spacers
Those are my âwinter wheelsâ. Have a set with 295/70R17 BFG KM3 on Fuel Podium with -12 offset going on in a few weeks (depending on how fast Spring comes around).
Bushwackers are on
So are the spacers
And surprise! My rock sliders are also in. Only item thatâs actually ahead of schedule!
RC 2.5â being installed
Thatâs usually the âwarranty weightâ and not necessarily the real threshold. I see the clamps as the weak link but Iâm willing to bet itâs built better than that. Anyway Iâll know for sure this summer when I start wheeling with this setup and most probably with a lot more than 185lbs on. Maybe...
Another look at 285s on stock wheels, pre lift and spacers. I think that more than answers the question: will they fit? Way too tight around the âcrash barsâ. Also doubt it will fit even with the lift on. Will know for sure how much trimming will be needed later today. 2.5â leveling kit and...
Donât want to highjack @MrRisk thread but Iâm trying this very setup this week. Getting my leveling kit late today and the dealer will test fit (again) my winter tires in that very size on the stock wheels Thursday. Iâll post results on my build thread. Although I have to add that Iâm planning...
Youâre making me hella jealous man! lol
Even if I get the truck looking as good (and functional) as yours Iâm many months away from being able to play like that ... a whole lotta snow needs to melt before we can even see our trails!
Dont get too excited! lol I havenât heard back from the dealer since last Thursday. I doubt their initial enthusiasm about âsimple triming of inner fenderâ will actually pan out. Levelling kit coming in this week so more chance of working out that way.
So far I only have one major pet peeve with this truck and has to do with the rear seat cargo capacity. The fold up feature is almost useless (for my use), makes it even more ackward to fit stuff IMO. Even though it wouldâve been a high lift over I wouldâve prefered the seat back go down flat...
I did a little bit when I had my lifted â01 Expedition (needed BIG trails! lol) and then a bit more with my Jeep
4.5â lift, 37â BFG KM2, and Yeah! That thing had a Hemi!! Trails in my neck of the woods are mostly old logging roads: somewhat rocky, sometimes sandy but mostly muddy.
Will be...
