I Am not seeing this? If, after paying for a tune, Ford issued a SSM or TSB that clearly said something along those lines of "Towing with tune will void warranty", then I agree, Ford should clear the tune and refund the money. But as I read it, this post is a whole lot of to do for nothing. Use...
I am not sure what you mean by this. I towed an (as loaded) 6,000lb TT up a very demanding, long, steep grade to my "home" campground. I could easily maintain 55-58 mph with the truck never dropping below 4th gear @ 4,200 rpm. A pretty impressive job. I could have likely held 60 mph or more if...
In almost $25k, the only rough shifts I have felt was the few days after my TSB for the surging when cold. I got maybe 2 or 3 very noticeable downshifts. Then, apparently the adaptive strategy adapted to my style and it has returned to smooth as butter. There may have been a few occasions where...
I saw a review somewhere that was very unimpressed by the 3.8 also. Kinda disappointing. I think Nissan claimed this was an almost entirely new/revised for the Frontier?? Found this from Motor Trend:
"Powered by a 3.8-liter naturally aspirated V-6, the 2020 Frontier produces 310 hp and 281 lb-ft...
I don't mind the looks. I almost bought a 2019 Pro4x because of price and I knew they were pretty bullet proof, but I found a great deal on the Ranger and thought it was so much more truck for similar money. They should not have did the fake fender vents in the lower front. Looks too...
The exterior doesn't look terrible. Not sure why they wanted to follow GM on the front fenders or red tow hooks. The copied Ford's mirror cut out doors on the first gen Titan so no surprise there.
Yes, but Ford hast tested their own tune and deemed it to not be detrimental to durabilty and they make money off it also to offset potential failures. So IF an aftermarket tune was potentially or possibly to blame for a failure, you have to see Ford's point. You were smart to buy the 5 star...
I agree. Not that I want to wish ill will on anyone, but if the manufacturer is to be held responsible for failures on vehicles that are operating way outside of their parameters, where would they every draw a line? I think Ford should try to identify the cause to make sure it wasn't a random...
I have never put my Ranger into 4wd by mistake/accident. I did put an F-150 (2008) into 4wd one time thinking I was turning the radio knob due to the close(ish) proximity....
I promise you, I do not self inflict mine. I drive like an old man and never tailgate. My driver side gets it way worse than my passenger side from oncoming traffic.
To me it's just sad that we have to pay $1,200-$2,000 AFTER we buy a $40k truck to keep it from looking like a $10k truck in one year.
I am thinking about going with the rocker guards too. My lower bed was peppered badly. I used duplicolor bed liner spray, then duplicolor Oxford white to cover...
With the screwdriver, you turn the screwdriver clockwise to lower (either light). (Turning the screwdriver clockwise actually turns the gear (washer) counterclockwise). Don't over think it ?. Just use a screwdriver (easier anyhow) and turn right to lower or left to raise your beams.
Last winter was fairly uneventful for me with a lack of snowy roads and anti skid. Yet my bed side lower front edge looked like the truck had 100k miles and not the 10k it actually had. I had my share of hood chips and door edges too. This winter has been much worse and I get peppered with anti...
With the price of the current gen bloating, I too wish they'd use aluminum. I read somewhere that the Bronco is using an all new high strength steel ( thinner/lighter ) to save weight, so I think Ford will likely go that route. It's a great concept. Thinner, lighter and yet stronger. But to me...
UPDATE:
Using the philips screw driver method, turning right/clockwise (this actually turns the 8mm bolt and gear washer left/counter clock wise for those using that method) lowers the beam. I put a reference mark on the gear washer with a sharpie and took it one full turn as I feel I am pretty...
I did mine back over summer. I do not remember which way I turned (using screwdriver method )to lower them. The confusion in this post is that if you turn the screwdriver clockwise, it is turning the screw counter clockwise. So Unless someone specifies which method they use, it's unclear. I...
I bought a Gator SRX roll up a few months after I bought my truck. The clamps were the worst design I have ever seen. They literally would barely hold and absolutely would not stay. I felt part of the problem was the design of the bed, but that's no excuse for a company to design, market and...
I almost pulled the trigger thru Flood Ford, but I am lacking a competent dealer within a reasonable drive so it makes the insurance/warranty moot for me. With the prices of new vehicles insane ( I only bought my Ranger because I got it for $5k under MSRP) and getting more crazy by the year...
