  1. Can I safely tow this travel trailer?

You need a trailer brake controller first and foremost. If you have a good weight distribution, you can safely tow that if you use common (uncommon?) sense. I have towed a 27.5' box TT (30 ft overall) 5,200lb dry with out issue. If I was going to tow down a freeway, I'd run about 55-60 mph on a...
  2. Weird rattle. Transmission?

As in, it's normal? Or you think it's loose or bad? I will have to get under it, but it's gonna need to be over 30*....???
  3. Weird rattle. Transmission?

Man, I would almost liken it to the clicking type noise when engaging 4 low. Like something is lining up. I have noticed it a while ago when it was nice and I had windows down as I was coasting to a stop, say the 4-3, 2-1 or whatever down shift just before stopping. Like click,click,click,click...
  4. Weird rattle. Transmission?

I thought I saw something similar posted before, but I can't find it.....I am getting a rattle/clicking type noise when putting the truck into park or sometimes when it's lugging right before it down shifts. Low speed of course. I also noticed it in 4WD Low when putting the truck into reverse...
  5. Chemical guys?

I have used Jet Seal. Easy on, easy off, good shine. Absolutely the worse sealant I have ever used as far as longevity. I think carnuba last longer. Honestly Turtle Wax seal and shine is hard to beat for durability and it's $10
  6. Stuck trying to install rear shocks

Hmmm. I removed the spare for extra room, and didn't remember them (Bilstiens) being overly hard to compress. I put the top on and just compressed by hand using slow and steady pressure to get the shock bottom in the mount and then used a flat screwdriver to line it up for the bolt. As far as...
  7. Ford Maverick Truck Unibody Fully Leaked

The fact that you can get this Maverick in AWD well equipped for about $32k-$33K will make it a hot seller. People (like me) are sick of seeing $40k,$50k,$60k and higher MSRP. I think this thing will sell like hot cakes, Kind of like the Bronco Sport is. The Hyundai Santa Cruz looks like azz...
  8. Rust Experts needed

Well, since it's not a pissing contest, you have cast iron knuckles not cast steel. I don't even know if cast steel knuckles exist? Are you 100% sure on that? You know what "they" say about opinions and brown eyes right? Forged steel knuckles are stronger and do exist. Cast iron has been used...
  9. Rust

I'm not snickering. I have not touched my rear axle and it has barely a sign of surface rust afer 26k miles and 20 months. People should not have rusted welds at 600 miles living in the "sunshine" state. Sorry. That's poor manufacturing and bean counters at work. That's what ruins company's. If...
  10. Rust

Good point. Why hold a company accountable and expect a quality product for $40k? We can spend a day and $500 paying someone to complete the factory build with rust proofing. LOL.
  11. Rust

I think fluid film is much better for use on inside panels where it doesn't get the road spray. I use it inside my doors and inside my frame and bed sides. CRC makes a good product that is more resistant to washing off from road spray and is better for the outside of the frame. It is only...
  12. Another Towing Question

Take some time and get your hitch set up perfected. There are some good youtube videos out there for reference. Getting the weight distribution as close to perfect as possible makes a huge difference on sway, porpoising etc. and will make the whole experience better.?
  13. Maverick production maybe starting...?!?

Looks like the Hyundai version is very car/suv like in design like the Honda. Ford definitely went the right route with "truck" like styling to differentiate itself and "look the part". The Hyundai pic'd below looks to be towing a decent sized trailer.......????
  14. Maverick production maybe starting...?!?

Is Like saying These two below look alike. ??? ??????
  15. Maverick production maybe starting...?!?

Yes, everyone is well aware this is based of the "Bronco" Sport platform. However, this doesn't look like a bronco sport in any way, at least to me it doesn't, not from what we can see in the camo. The Ridgeline has always looked like a Pilot, which has always looked soft and car like. Which in...
  16. FORD ends MACH E mark up

It drives me nuts too that it's called "Mustang". Mach E would have sufficed as a stand alone name. I personally think they look really nice in person. But I agree, Mustang?? It's like the "Bronco Sport". While I think it did clearly help with marketing and sales at least preliminary, I just...
  17. Maverick production maybe starting...?!?

I don't see any Ridgeline resemblance in this. Yes they're both unibody, but the Honda looks like they took a Pilot frontend and chopped the back to accommodate a cargo bed. Not proportioned right and doesn't have the "truck" look. If the Maverick looks like a Ridgeline because they are unibody...
  18. Transmission doesn’t go into second gear

I think Ford's official response was there was no performance or efficiency gains so they removed it to "save weight" ?. I am pretty sure it saves a few dollars also.
  19. Tremor Production Started

It does look great. I like any of the light/bright colors with the sport package Magnetic metallic that really pops. I personally wouldn't buy the gray tho just because it's becoming so cliche. Toyota is the first I can think used it, maybe not, but everyone seems to have a similar color in...
