We found our Ranger "used" at a Honda dealer with 400 miles on it. I lucked out as it was an XLT/STX 4X4 with the diff locker & too many bells & whistles (without the window sticker) to use at first. I didn't think I would use it in 4X4 without the snows we have, but ended up on an Elk hunt in...
"FYI, I bought my Ranger from Luther Ford here..."
As far as I know, there are no HIPPA laws concerning motor vehicles. Why not ask the service manager about this guy & his "issues" to shed some light on the vehicle in question? I would be interested to know if this is a real post or not.
Take a look at him online & see what you think about his other posting stuff. I would hate to use the "T" word, but... "Hi kevarmy79, My sincere apologies for the problems. Please contact me at..."
There seems to be a pattern here, somewhat negative reviews, which is how this guy gets his...
The "ET" shows up in the lower/middle/left of my display over the steering column when it's activated. Just reset to 940 & it should be about right now.
Unfortunately, I didn't notice a strong smell or runny oil. That having been said, my nose isn't really working too well. Prior to retirement, I had contemplated getting a disability hang-tag for my truck, disability payments & a "smelling-nose" service dog. Too many years of wood working...
This thread finally got to me. Went outside & checked the engine date (March 6) & pulled the dip stick. Oil is about 1/8" above the top hole after 5,100 miles & still the factory oil from when it was new. Guess I'm lucky on this one, but I'm going to be sending the oil to Blackstone for analysis...
"Last week his wife didn't see a car traveling down a 25mph road and pulled in front of it, hitting the drivers side front quarter panel."
Need a new wife & new truck, problem solved. Just sayin'...
"I consider one of those units I believe you got. Unfortunately I have a few different trailers. That's the way to go if your hauling one trailer. It's perfect"
For what the dealers & Ma Ford charges, you can buy one for each trailer & still save money, just sayin'...
Tekonsha 90160 Primus IQ
That was the model I wanted to buy, but no one had one in stock in 4 states at the time. I was going to order out of Dalhart Texas, but ended up finding a used one in Albuquerque for a few $ more than the "stripped model" I was going to buy (cruise, 4x4 & tow). The dealer said not to worry about...
I'd be very interested to see a follow-up to this guy's post & the remedial action by Ma Ford. This one doesn't pass the sniff test for me for several reasons, but I'll just wait to see what he posts next about the lemon law & Ford's reply (if any).
Typical loss of power is 3% / 1000' of elevation gain. So the 10% per 1000M is pretty close to the expected actual loss of power in a normally aspirated motor. I think Ford is being a bit conservative with their input, but it's normal now in today's society. Remember, at higher altitudes on long...
It happened again yesterday! Another 5" of the white stuff, shaping up to be a good winter. Our water supply comes from the mountains just north of town & into southern Colorado, so it's good to have a bit more already. Should be a nice spring in another 4-5 months...
We're at 6,500' here in Raton, the lousy lower octane fuel is readily available in small town New Mexico. The last 2 tanks have been purchased in Colorado Springs for the Christmas holiday & it's 91 octane. I'm going to bump the fuel monitoring computer again, as we've picked up about 1+ mpg...
Working on a new blade in the shop for this winter. Thinking about the heat treat process & if I should pull the trigger on an oven, so I don't have to send out for that part of the process. I'm still just doing "stock removal" with my grinder (relatively new to this stuff), no forging at this...
We had about 5" of snow yesterday & last night. Took the truck out this morning for breakfast & did a bit of shoveling to get the steps cleared for Santa. Glad we put in the covered parking last month, comes in handy now. Mostly, it was for the hail storms in summer, but winter parking is nice...
I use them every day. When I went for a test drive at the dealership, I stepped out like I was in the old Nissan (muscle memory after 140,000 miles of driving) & damn near fell flat on my face due to the height. Glad they were installed already when we bought the "used" truck with 400 miles...
After trying to work with our local dealer here in Raton to buy a truck, I will NEVER go to them for anything, not even an oil change. There hasn't been a person I've spoken with here who has had a positive experience & there are a few horror stories on service. Too bad Mama Ford doesn't have a...
