I thought that too when I first saw it but no it's open. A guy on the fb page installed one. They recently started selling an optional plastic lid though. Maybe they didn't want to report results better than their quantum intake.
I thought it was suprising and interesting that the K&N intake used a foam top, it makes it more like an open intake. When I used to be into Audi's it was evident that open filter intakes would always dyno higher than a closed intake. But on the track and dragstrip the closed style intake would...
AirRaid intake in great condition and only ran for about 1500 miles. Comes with AirRaid rewashable dryflow filter. Nice power gain and improved drivability/throttle response. Looking for 260 shipped to US.
Do you remember where the spring gate was located in the muffler. On the outlet pipe somewhere? I would like to attempt to eliminate it, knowing the location would help me make it a less invasive surgery lol!
For me it really depends on the overall topography of the trip. Towing our small camper and equipment from Texas to Colorado we are generally going uphill and I get about 12-13 mpg. On the return trip we are going downhill and I get about 19-20 mpg. So call it 15.5 on average.
AFE charge pipes went in today and I am very with the results. The drivability factor is my favorite part. Partial throttle inputs at low rpm is really nice, no more lugging sensation. Power gains are great, low to midrange torque is most noticeable. I noticed a gain on the high-end too, but...
I know! And he never posted anymore info or pictures!! I posted on my local ranger page to see if anyone could sell me a stock muffler for cheap so I could cut it open.
