  1. Recommendations for Ford 10 Speed Transmission; I believe these apply to my Ranger; Your thoughts?

I got this for my (new) transmission. Holds more fluid. I'd prefer to also have cooler for towing and offroad. https://www.mishimoto.com/aluminum-transmission-pan-ford-10r60-10r80-transmissions.html
  2. Recommendations for Ford 10 Speed Transmission; I believe these apply to my Ranger; Your thoughts?

Just had to have my transmission replaced at 57,000 miles. Left me stranded on side of road in Death Valley. $1,000 tow to nearest Ford dealership, which didn’t have a Ford certified transmission tech on-site, so another $380 to have it towed to another dealership. Error codes lit up like a...
  3. Turbo low boost pressure

As said above, check your hoses cause there’s a leak somewhere. I recently did a big road trip with a heavy trailer after swapping out the air box and retuning my ECU. For a few hours on the trip while I had the radio off, I said “gee, that new air box sure is loud” because the truck otherwise...
  4. Biggest tires on leveled Ranger

Nice! That's awesome. I'm a fan of pizza cutters. :D Any change in turning radius? I think that I sacrificed a little with my setup. I started with the stock 17" wheels, got tires and then got new wheels with some bead grip after smashing one of my stock wheels apart on some rocks while...
  5. Biggest tires on leveled Ranger

Will this work under compression with stock wheel offset?
  6. Spireon tracker?

Trackers. Dealers are incentivized by companies to add these to their vehicles and then charge the customer for them, branding it as a vehicle theft recovery system. It's all BS. The stealerships get a kickback from the companies selling this crap and they sneak it into the contract, so if...
  7. Biggest tires on leveled Ranger

There's some older but still valid and really good threads on here that go into a lot of depth with charts and breaking down what combinations work. The tl;dr is you can fit 33" in there with spacers on stock wheels or get new wheels with less offset. You'll also need to remove the crash bars...
  8. AMP Research Powersteps — wiring

Just saw this. Thanks! I ended up getting a smaller version of this, but the same idea. My truck is an ongoing project, so I'm having to unplug the power step connection when I'm using Forscan or flashing the ECU for performance tuning since the OBD signal gets noisy with multiple devices trying...
  9. AMP Research Powersteps — wiring

that did it!! White -> grey with orange stripe Blue -> purple with orange stripe thank you!!
  10. AMP Research Powersteps — wiring

Yeah that’s the video I screen grabbed and zoomed in on the wiring. I wish he had spent a little time talking through things. The “plug and play” kit is anything but “plug and play”. It comes with an OBD2 adapter with two coded purple, blue and white wires (4 total wires). The purple wires...
  11. AMP Research Powersteps — wiring

Does anyone know the proper wiring for the plug & play kit? Specifically the blue and white wires. Background: I bought the kit but the “instructions” are a QR code to a website that no longer exists. I bought these on Amazon, so I don’t know who to contact for help since everything I find...
  12. My towing mileage sucks!

Yeah, I rage about these ridiculous bans on diesel engines in the US. Everywhere else in the world it’s no issue. Great mileage and durability. But here in the US the nanny laws force us into janky gas engines simply because of negative perceptions that diesel is somehow dirtier than petrol.
  13. My towing mileage sucks!

Yeah something's not right. I got 7-9mpg towing a 7k trailer across the country. With my truck camper, I get between 14 - 18mpg. It sounds like maybe the gears are too low and your rpms are right in the range for full boost, dumping fuel into the engine.
  14. My Ranger rides like crap. Help!

Things that come to mind for me: What load type tires? C or E? E are very stiff and are overkill for most applications. People of the “bigger is always better” community tend to reflexively recommend E, but I’ve never had issues with C whether towing a 7k lb trailer all over the place...
  15. Tried To Install Them On My 2023 Lariat……

Ignore the haters. Grab some axles off of an F350 and send it. https://www.customwheeloffset.com/wheel-offset-gallery/505900/2016-ford-ranger-fuel-531-profender-suspension-lift-10in-nitto-mud-grappler
  16. Front and rear gears

The front gears were on backorder for months, but finally got them. Now to line up an installer!
  17. Towing 6Klbs for 1400 Miles?

FWIW: I towed max capacity of the Ranger with a 20’ trailer from the California foothills to central Illinois this past August with no issues. About 2,100 miles. I shortcut through of the very steep and curvy bypass routes through the Sierra Nevada and across Nevada. No issues whatsoever. Truck...
  18. Camping Rig and Compensating for Winch - Stock springs with aftermarket struts/shocks?

The nice thing about those up front shocks is they’re adjustable without having to remove the tension on the springs. Regarding leveling, always going to have some droop in the bed when hauling or towing. Stock the bed is ~2” taller than front so headlights are adjusted for that, which means...
  19. Camping Rig and Compensating for Winch - Stock springs with aftermarket struts/shocks?

I don’t think 100lbs up front is going to too noticeable. I’d hold off on the rear shackles and wait to see what happens first. My advice is to make minor changes and wait to see what happens before buying the next thing.
  20. Carbontek service - needed/worth it?

"Using our state-of-the-art Hydrogen Generator, hydrogen gas is introduced into the air intake, the hydrogen reacts with the carbon in your engine to turn it back into a fuel vapor. This vapor is then burned cleanly out the exhaust with no harmful chemicals. This service reduces emissions...
