I have the same behavior. The service manage at my dealership claims that the stutters in acceleration stem from poor programming in the transmission shift strategy. He says the overdrive continually engages and disengages in its search for the most economical spot. To me it feels like a fuel...
Yep, mine does it also. It's only while it's warming up, prior to the fan shifting down from "airplane about to take off" mode. It bothered me at first but I have gotten used to it.
@CoastieN70 , I am considering Livernois also. My biggest issue with the stock tune is how it manages the tranny. It always seems to be in a higher gear than it should be in order to increase MPG. This causes it to feel under-powered and jittery when I am just cruising. Do the Livernois...
Would one of you guys who installed the Extang MaxSeal mind posting a couple pics of your install? I have purchased some too and have been trying to decide how/where to install it. If you put it across the bottom, does it trap water IN your bed?
Right, but what I mean is how long does it have to learn? I've seen posts where the poster was told, by a dealer, that it could take up to 5000 miles. I can't image that is correct, is it?
Phil, what sort of period (either time or miles) should be regarded as the learning period? I have 2200 miles. It should be done "learning", shouldn't it?
Man, I wish I could flash a badge! "Oh, so you say that clunking noise is a characteristic of the engine and that I should not live with it?" BAM! Flash the badge.
Well, mine does not behave the way the article describes but it certainly does not shift "smoothly". Quite the opposite actually. I have checked and it does not qualify for any of the TSBs out there.
The problem with the pull tab is that when you pull it to release the latch, the pulling action puts outward pressure on the latch and it does not want to release. The secret is to push the armrest IN with one hand and pull the tab OUT with the other. if you so that, it opens very easily.
