Even in sport mode the truck will skip second gear. It’s all load dependent as for which gear is used at what time. You should call the dealer and schedule a test drive to show them and see if there is an available PCM update.
It’s completely normal for this setup to skip gears going up and down. It’s more efficient that way, OP is just wondering about the harsh downshift at times.
Looks like King has a set of front coil overs available for the Ranger now.

I work on the control systems for equipment in the large scale sector, 500 tons and up. The air handlers are on the scale of 2-3 stories tall and 60ft across. I love going to work each day. Hah.
I would of asked me the same question hah! I have an MS251 that I usually play with. However, I like to try new things and this m18 chainsaw has really impressed me. I like not having the standard issue 2 stroke stench when I go to bed camping and not having to keep another can of gas on the...
Last time I was out I dropped two 80ft aspens and had them bucked with two batteries.
I’ve got a little more aggressive chain on and it’s a little wider chisel that the standard 3/8’s LP.
Well this is for my chainsaw hah. I use it for camping and off road emergencies. I have two 12ah batteries now but id like to renew them when out for a week or more.
Figured I should start a thread where people can post images of "artful" intent. Not so much what you had for lunch.. maybe a little more pizzazz.
Ill start with this one I took last weekend in Crested Butte, CO.
Look forward to seeing what everyone has!
They do, but its only 2.3 amps on the 18v side. Would take a dogs age to fill the 200+ Wh that the batteries hold. I did a lot of digging and a big inverter is the only real solution.
Thinking about getting an inverter to wire in behind the seat. Im annoyed that the factory one is only 150w as id like to charge my milwaukee 12ah batteries but would take days with a charger rated to 150w.
Its not "normal" in that after a few drive cycles it will go away. If its constant then you might want to see if you can force a relearn for the truck. When I flash a new tune it will do the hard down shift maybe 2-3 times before it goes away. I have noticed on the performance tune by 2.5 Star (...
I'm wondering the same thing. I've been on three wheels a decent amount without to much of an issue with control but I would like to get more travel out of it. Hope that icon will have a set of rear leafs out that will help with some travel.
