What kind of driving have you been doing. The ecu takes into account a few different things in determining when to turn that light on.
Or the dealership didn't reset it last time they did the change.
The reason I ask about the driving.
10R's seem to be extremely sensitive to fluid level during high speed driving. From personal experience, the one time I had the fluid ever-so-slightly on the high side of full was the one time I had an issue with a runaway overheat and vented fluid, and that...
Others have covered a lot of this, but.
The LG won't hurt anything and will help keep the valves free and moving properly. I have used it on a well-functioning transmission since just around 10K and the trans continues to be spot-on. Others have used it with wonky transmissions and brought...
Problem is, once they engineered it, the lawyers and EPA compliance department got hold of it and buggered things up.
I'm not saying we're all smarter than Ford's engineers, but compromises are made all the time in production vehicles, ASS being one of them. The other being where they set the...
@TJC
I'm sure he'll chime in, but I can summarize.
Unhappy with his transmission to the point of not driving the truck.
2 fluid changes with the appropriate dose of LG later and he's taking it on long trips and trusting it again.
I agree.
I screwed around with clip ons and the like, hands down these are the best for the Ranger. I won't be without a set of real towing mirrors on any truck I use to haul anything with ever again.
Which is what pisses me off about Ford. I was pricing an F150 STX with the 2.7. They...
1oz per quart of system capacity.....which is around 12 quarts. Usually I just recommend a 10oz bottle to start with and then 1oz per quart when you change fluid. Just easier that way since it comes in a 10oz (or 15/32oz) bottle.
You'd do well to do an early fluid change and then one at about 30k. Get any new build debris out of it.
Of course, and my standard Lubegard recommendation. I am under no delusion they've actually solved their valve body problems, even though they are fixing the shells and CDF bushings.
Not really.
The ULV is a good fluid and the trans is designed to work with it. Ford just dicked up the valve body design to a certain extent and it is overly sensitive to wear and dirt.
Also, not recommending fluid changes until 150k wasn't smart either. The filter is nice, but it isn't...
Have you ever looked at your fluid temps? They don't warm up nearly that fast.
It's also not normal. We've been getting down to the low 20's here lately and mine is just as smooth as it is when warm. Having a slow valve in the transmission is an excellent way to flare or bind a shift, and...
It is likely your valve body being a tad slow with the thicker (cold) fluid. Try a 10oz bottle of Lubegard Platinum and report back. It will help clean up anything in there and free up some of the slow valves.

Couple of caveats here.
Yes, I know Gale is talking about Diesels, but in-line gas tuners do work similarly. (As you said, modifying sensor inputs).
I'm not saying all the in-lines are bad, but for me, I wouldn't use one.
I do wish Banks would do one of their tuners for our gassers.
The short of it is.....you can't.
All of those add ons will do nothing to increase your payload or the limit of the axles/frame/suspension/etc.
There are things you can do to make what you're doing more comfortable, but there is no magic pill to let you carry more weight.
Victron claims 98.5% efficiency, which, I find a smidge difficult to believe, but his results seem to line up with that.
I know Victron has some beautifully engineered pieces that they put a lot of work into.
Very good information. I use the smaller/older Orion TR 12/12-18 in ours, just to supplement everything while we're moving. Never really liked that it doesn't integrate with the CerboGX and will probably upgrade to the XS sometime this year.
I've tried to look at charging data in my system...
