true. sometimes i dont notice it others it sounds like the truck is powered by a jet engine and its spooling up. If only I could hear the tiny little fist sized turbo in my ranger....
that
motortrend review is total BS. Maybe they need to break in IDK mine is Lariat FX4 but it was in the loaner program so it had 2000 miles when I got it so maybe the shocks need to break in or something.. Although the other FX4 I drove was brand new and rode just as good so... It rides like...
mine does the same thing doesn't really bother me though. I did worry the first time I heard it that it would be a constant noise so at least its only when the truck is cold.
Awe sweet they have a module that automatically folds the mirrors in when the truck is locked that's awesome! Their stuff is a bit pricey though...

Thanks RangerCat...
As for paying 50 grand I had a little negative equity on my trade and 50 is about what I'll end up paying when its paid off. I think the price before tax and all that was like 38 thousand
I know there is a way to convert the ranger to all four auto up/down buttons but I can't remember what car the switch comes from(mustang maybe?) or if there are any other requirements. I searched the forum and google but didn't find much info. Anyone know how to do this?
It's a very little thing...
I read somewhere they might be putting the 2.7 v6 twin turbo ecoboost in the ranger. I got super jealous for a minute but I love my ranger and I can get plenty out of the 2.3. The only thing is the v6 sounds a fair bit better for a truck.
really? First I've heard that. I think it does level off at higher rpm's but it has a massive amount of torque. The leveling off I think is just restriction these engines have far more power to gain with aftermarket parts/programmers.
The twin scroll turbo is amazing on this engine it's the...
thanks, I forgot about the steel rims on the XL I thought 17 was standard. I will go with 16 if i have to i just prefer 15 because there is a tire I really like that doesn't come in 16"
Want to buy some tires and steel rims for the winter and I'm wondering if anyone knows what the smallest size rim is I could go to. I would like to get 15" as there are many good snow tires cheap for those but I'm thinking the brake calipers would hit. Anyone have 16" rims?
ya side stepping sounds right. All my trucks have done it.its rather bothersome but I'm not sure what could fix it. Maybe the Fox rear shock dampeners would help, I'm not sure if they are really any better than the FX4 though.
I haven't drove one without the FX4 but mine rides really nice. Its by far the nicest riding truck Ive ever owned. The only complaint I have I'm not sure what its called but when you hit multiple bumps the rear end kinda bounces sideways. I guess its gonna do that no matter what because it has...
oh gotcha... No im one of the few that really likes it. I'm not like huge on green tech or anything I just think its cool and if I can save gas and the planet and it doesn't give me anxiety like it does most why not use it right?
I love when people say "just because you didn't create carbon...
Ya i think we have pretty much perfected steel and it cant get any stronger than it is. Of course that's what people say about everything so maybe there will be an advancement in steel strength.
i like it its just sometimes annoying when I park. Am I gonna turn it off just for that? nope. Will I remember to turn it off everytime i park? probly not.
hmm interesting. I can also relate to a vehicle taking the entire ride to warm up. Most of my trucks have had block heaters but as I didn't order my ranger I'll have to buy one for it. I hate the thought of my truck's engine idling cold that's where most of engine damage comes from regardless of...
Ya i get what you mean. I live in upstate NY we have some of the worst salt/sand roads in the US as well as I'm sure you do also... I know how you feel I am literally terrified of this truck rotting out. I was super upset when I found out the Ranger only has aluminum for the front fenders, hood...
