i guess I was looking for a way to tell the truck there isn't a trailer even though the light is plugged in because it disables start/stop and maybe other functions also. Its not a big deal I only really have it so the hitch isn't open to the elements as bad I don't really mind the lights.
I bought one of those hitch lights because I keep my hitch out unless I'm using it so I don't back into anything. Problem is if I plug it in to work as another brake/reverse light the truck thinks there is a trailer attached and gives me error messages about trailer length ext and of course...
Was I the only dummy to fall for this beautiful piece of artwork? On a better note here is a pic of flat black tailgate lettering on hot pepper red. Looks pretty good, I think.
Ya it drives me nuts I try to tap on and off the brake and that sometimes keeps it from doing it. It seems to wait until there is a steady hold but it should wait another second or so. As for not working in the winter does it not work in the cold? I live upstate NY and it gets nasty up here in...
not sure about yours, my truck has spray on bedliner type material but same color as the truck along the bottom of the panels. Seems pretty tough. As for the ppl worried about these holding debris, A bead of good silicone around the inside edge when installing would prevent that.
I'm not impressed with this thing at all. The lights are just a LED stick on that slaps on the front so you can see the whole thing where as in the picture on the website it looked like they were mounted LED's in the rear.
Biggest issue is the wiring. The wire itself is cheap 18 gauge speaker...
hmm i was thinking aluminum would help pull heat out of the air because its a good heat conductor. I guess I didn't add for the engine bay heating the pipes. Im a powersports mechanic so my experience is with motorcycles which the pipes get cooled by passing air and snowmobiles where cold air...
AzScorpion, I feel the same way I'm worried I'm going to rely on the tech and one day its not going to work. Like adaptive cruise when a slow car comes up the truck slows right down but as I'm waiting for it to slow down I'm getting nervous and I wonder if its worth the nervousness and risk of...
holy shite sounds like your encounter was even worse than mine! I'm glad you managed to evade him and that you made it back up the embankment! That must have been scary hearing the car behind you crash into him. I hate the sound of a car crash... It's weird how it happens so fast but in a way it...
i go on a long trip to a clinic twice a month and have been trying out the adaptive cruise control and moisture activated windshield wipers. The tech on these trucks is insane the most sophisticated vehicle I've drove was my 2013 Ford Fusion SE with the regular 2.5 N/A engine so all this stuff...
No there is no way it could have stopped in time but it for sure gave me just enough time to react and prevent the collision. I wish I had a front facing camera rolling it was so intense it would have been great for a promotion video for the pre-collision system.
Not 10 minutes from the dealer after picking up my ranger my mom in the passenger seat, the pre-collision detection saved our lifes. Or at least saved us from injury and a totaled truck after 10 minutes of owning it. I was driving as my mom was looking through the features on the window sticker...
Speaking of dry gas I love how even with the ethanol in fuel these days they still sell that crap in stores even though it will only add to the problem of water in your gas when using gas with ethanol already in it. Then you have phase separation where ethanol separates from the gas, sinks, and...
LMAO I live in the boondocks and always wondered how ppl even get e15 or e85 i've never seen it. Anyway, I'm glad we still have non-ethanol 91 around me that's all I use. The gas mileage increase alone is worth it not to mention the harmful effects of ethanol.
why of course they are
Im not positive but I dont think the ranger has the ISG. Pretty sure its just a beefed up starter. I'm not going to say for sure because I could be wrong but as a mechanic it doesn't look like a generator to me but a simple alternator. I am however, positive that s/s wont...
cool I'm excited to see the outcome hopefully it doesn't trigger a check engine light. Not being able to hear the turbo does kinda suck but it is only about the size of my palm so it's no surprise.... I installed the turbosmart blow off valve and I can sometimes hear that which sounds kinda cool...
I am tempted to get a down pipe but the catless one is useless if you want to drive on road and the one with a cat states that it could throw a CEL. Not worth the risk for 600 bucks. Seems they could make a kit that welds onto the stock cat that flows better than stock. Then again I haven't...
