The exhaust starts out as 3",it's then necked DOWN to 2 1/2" on the inlet, then necked back up to 3" on the outlet,PLUS,you can clearly see the 1" restriction when you look down the inlet tube.
It doesn't. It doesn't change anything to do with emissions. That is taken care of by all the emissions stuff built in and around the engine and finally the cat. After that,it's all noise control. I live in an emissions county, but I'm exempt from all testing, not that it really matters. If I had...
Just like Doc says,no muffler. Like he and others have done,it's just a simple and cheap muffler delete. The factory resonator stays in place. Cost me 60 bux,and 20 minutes of someone else's time, lol.
I'm not a leadfoot, but my wife is,lol. And you can only go so fast unless one is trolling for a good drivers award,(speeding ticket),which I don't.
And I just bought this: My CAI...
I just ordered this above. I just did my exhaust today<(muffler delete) and that made a YUUGE difference. Now I'll see if this dry filter does any improvements.
Just got back from the muffler shop. WOW !!!!! What a difference. Now I have a 3" exhaust all the way back, and a great sound, with NO drone. When I pulled in to the shop,my mpg average on the readout was 18.1.After I left the shop it shot up to 20.3 in less than 3 miles, all city driving. All for...
Some on here did replace the factory cat with a performance one. That ain't for me. Depending on how the next gen ranger lariat will be offered in terms of possible engine options and a real tow pkg including mirrors built in trailer brake controller etc,I just might be trading mine in for a...
Yeah,I know it's expensive up there. In truth I don't plan to do much to my truck. I want to see what the next gen ranger has to offer. I'm very interested in a crew cab/LONG bed/diesel. And I think chebby will have the next gen colorado out so I'll look there too. I already drove their...
I'm just gonna go with a muffler delete from a local muffler shop. I was born and raised in the north east, and have NEVER had an exhaust system rust out.And I don't see why anybody would spend the outrageous money for a pretty ss exhaust that is under the truck. It just doesn't make any sense to...
Are all of your ranger systems made out of stainless steel? I ask this because where I live, rust is not a problem. Having said that,I don't need or want a ss exhaust.
I have used Royal Purple oil and filters in my last vehicle, since new. This time I will use Amsoil, and their filter. Yes,those filters,as in most, have the anti-drain back check valve. BUT,both the Amsoil and Royal Purple filters have a microfiber filter element instead of paper. Much higher...
