I also have an XL but I got mine with the STX package. I believe it has a different front bumper and includes the tow hooks. I wouldn't think that any of the underpinnings would be different between your truck and mine so you probably would just need the STX front bumper in addition to the tow...
I removed my air dam almost a year ago and i've had no drop in fuel efficiency and the truck does not drive any differently that I can tell. Also, I'm in Florida and have gone through a full scorching summer without the air dam and no issues at all with cooling or performance. I also went on a...
This thread is exactly why I opted for a drop in bed liner. 14 months in and no fading, plus if anything does happen to it, replacement is always an option. I don't like the fact that the spray in bed liners are permanent.
I need to remove my bedliner to drill a couple of holes in it to install an accessory rail for the tonneau cover that I just purchased, but from what I have read online it seems as though the plugs that hold the bedliner in place cannot be removed without breaking them off. (See picture of plug...
I totally get the part about your kid dropping the tailgate. Mine did the same, but then I just told him if he can't let it down normally then don't touch it anymore. It's not like he even really has a reason to.
Congrats! I personally think you made a great choice. This is the first truck I've ever owned and I absolutely love it. 13k miles so far and no issues *knocks on wood*. Its got plenty of power and utility and also gets good gas mileage for a truck. It suits my needs in every way shape and...
I keep the tailgate closed and rest the back end of the drywall on top of the tailgate. It sticks out a bit but I just limit my speed to 45 max and it hasn't been an issue. Not sure how fast I can go without the drywall snapping. Don't really want to test it, lol.
Only if you are going to the hardware store for a new screwdriver. My Ranger with the 5 foot bed is bare minimum size to haul some drywall home along with 8 foot long 2x's. No chance you are getting drywall or plywood sheets in a Maverick if the bed is less than 5 feet, and you aren't getting...
I read that the Bronco can only tow 3,500 lbs. Seems very low for a body on frame design, especially since the Ranger can tow 7,500 lbs and they supposedly share a platform. Anyone know why this is?
I will check this setting, however, it normally switches back to the radio as soon as I put it in drive. It only does this once in awhile and then the radio freezes up, so I don't think it has to do with the current setting.
I've got an STX as well. I've had intermittent issues with the radio screen staying in backup camera mode even after I put it in drive and start driving down the road. Kinda weird seeing the pavement fly away from you on the screen. Then after that it freezes up and the screen turns blue and...
I decided to construct a shelf to create a continuous flat surface over the wheel wells to allow transportation of drywall without fear of it splitting down the middle. It has a vertical plywood piece along the cab wall for rigidity and it is held in place by a bungee cord connecting to the tie...
I agree with you 100%. I've had that pre-collision warning come on twice, beeping and flashing red on top of the dashboard and I was like wtf is going on?! Talk about a distraction! In both cases there was no possibility of an impending crash about to happen, unless you consider me swerving...
I got mine from PUTCO.com
They are black platinum stainless steel and had a 3M peel and stick adhesive. Make sure the area to place the letters on the tailgate is thoroughly clean and dry before applying. (use alcohol swabs).
I liked these better than the vinyl because they are reflective...
Is it only when you first start up, or the whole time while driving? Mine seems to go away after a little bit, although maybe I just get used to the smell, lol.
I'm trying to figure out if this is a real thread or if we are just being trolled.
The only somewhat odd smell I can think of in mine is sometimes when I turn the heat on (rare occurrence here in FL) it smells like a combination of hot plastic and BO. It doesn't always happen though...
