That's what I was thinking but it was kinda tripping me out. Because when I added either one to the cart it first asked what bed length I had. I was 85% sure it was just a glitch on their site or my phone/laptop was being weird.
I was looking again last night (after I posted here) on the laptop and it only showed one. When I go on my phone it's shows two. Part # bed cap SO-FR580 and bed cap SO-FR700. Maybe it's just a glitch in the matrix
Does anyone know what the difference is between the two models from softopper?
They have two different part numbers but no literature explaining the difference. They don't seem to answer emails or their phone lines
Two points and I'll leave this alone. The thread is about a stock fx4 and where it can go and people comparing to the other offroad trucks. We all know that a lifted and larger equipped tire does more than look cool. It obviously helps in those offroad metrics you mentioned. Approach, departure...
A rear locker is useless some situations, except for when one rear tire is spinning and the other is sitting there twiddling it's thumbs (so to speak). A front locker is no different. The question you need to ask yourself is, if you had a choice do you want a lockable diff or an open one? I'll...
The Gladiator is a jeep through and through. It's based off of the wrangler. You're just flat wrong about the gladiator underpinnings ??
Sure it's got a different frame but it's built that way so it can carry/tow twice as much as a wrangler. I would also like to see the dodge dakota that it's...
Your 2001 ZR2 is nothing compared to the new ones. I'm not bashing the ranger but I'm also not stupid. I've had a 3rd gen taco trd, 2018 ZR2 and a jeep rubicon (several actually)....and the rangers closest competitor is the taco, the others out wheel it easily. I know because I've used them all...
Having had a ZR2 and now a ranger. The ZR2 is miles better offroad. Especially when rock crawling. The two biggest advantages the ZR2 has is suspension travel and front locker.
The advantage on the ranger side is the crawl ratio, it's much better. Everything works pretty well together on the...
Well I have a ranger and i think the ranger is better at being a truck. However I'm not gonna pretend that it's even near the same level of offroad capability as the ZR2.
The problem is that I can get a fully loaded ZR2 for ~40k (with a diesel)otd(I paid 41.3k otd for mine). What can you get a fully loaded ranger for? Maybe about the same......but it still can't compete.
However the argument of " let me throw 20k at something but you keep yours stock so mine...
Lets put the same money in the other vehicles....and the ranger would be last place or close to it. I can tell you have never been in anything more capable than a ranger. The rubi gladiator and ZR2 will walk the ranger offroad stock for stock.....mod for mod. It wouldn't even be a competition...
You will almost always have to modify fiberglass parts. It's never a perfect fit. To be fair mine and my buddies aren't painted so that may make a difference.
Outside of those two options you really don't have an affordable alternative. If I had to do it again I would probably do a vinyl wrap...
I have fiberwerx on my ZR2, fit sucks and the fiberglass will break off in chips when rocks fly up and hit them. Some small chips and some chunks. My buddy has ADV fenders on his 4runner. The fit was pretty damn good, minor sanding around the headlights, but they will still chip pretty easy. His...
Cool, your gonna need more than a downpipe to get 350 at the wheels. You will probably have to get an e85 tune or start upgrading more hard parts....like a turbo upgrade.
What exactly do you think will get hurt? It's not the fuel system that is the issue. The motor isn't the issue either, assuming you have a quality tune.
Every modern vehicle is designed to have ethanol through it's veins........, I.e. the fuel system and motor. The issue is factory tune and...
