I dont think anyone has had it installed long enough to tell, but yes it has to be a concern. I rolled the dice on the 589 hidden mount also, we shall see.
My local Ford dealer did mine last month and they did a fantastic job, super thick, all areas covered. They also did my F-150 a few years back and it turned out great. Sometimes the dealers pull thru.
I also put in a set of CoverKings and they are worth the $$, Very good fit, almost perfect, cut for your Ranger and a ton of different styles and colors. I found them to be cheaper thru a distributor on Ebay... Took about 2 weeks to get my fronts and about 4 weeks to get the rear..........
I guess if were taking the Ford Pass points into account, the swing out tool box is a winner for me, I have a laundry list of other goodies, but if were talking bang for the buck....
Dont forget about the 589FAB hidden winch mount, i have one on order...... Patiently waiting

Hows the squish factor behind the seat, is there enough room to fill the bags with stuff and still secure the seat without crunching the contents of the bags ?
Funny the things we all differ on in the wants and needs department. The irony behind my XLT is I wanted a 4x4 XL with only one option, the rear diff lock, but the incentives on the XLTs made them substantially cheaper than any other trim level at the time.
Well I had to loosen up the wheel well liner, I got tired of fishing thru the factory hole, but non the less I used your picks for guidance, so thanks again and it turned out nice and solid. The tool box literally takes about 8 minutes to install if your using a small impact.
If you havent used your FordPoints yet it about covers it, I paid $23 out the door with my pass points at my local dealer, showed up the next day, easy install.
I found it bizarre that the sliding rear window is considered a coveted rarity in the ranger trim levels, pickup trucks had sliding rear windows, thats just how it was, every pickup truck i can remember owning or those owned in my immediate family had the sliding rear window, now its a golden...
Been doin all kinds of stuff to the lil Ranger, heres the Hi-lift mounted, bed sprayed, swing out tool box and winch prep, just waiting on my 589FAB mount...tick Tock..
