I was playing with the app one day. Opened the truck window and then locked it with the key thing. Then reached through the window and opened the door. The truck send a text to my phone saying there was an unauthorized entry.
I was like you until my kids bought me a smart phone. I was not going to buy one for myself. Now, I really like the navigation capability the phone gives me.
Just be sure you stay legal. Most states require trailer brakes for trailers over some weight. It varies by state (so be sure to check if you drive interstate).
I agree. I almost always have the instantaneous MPG displayed.
Want to know BAD mileage, towing 6000 pounds UP hill on an interstate and passing at 70 MPH (accelerating from 55). 4MPG at 70 mph is like pouring fuel from a container.
I have 5700 miles and the system has activated twice at the lowest level (red light bar). The one I recall, a car entered my lane just in front of me. We were both going at approximately the same speed (maybe 55 mph). No real danger since the other car was accelerating and the lane was clear...
I tow a 7X17 foot cargo trailer that has a total trailer weight of about 6000 pounds when loaded.
It tows well. I tow long distances (usually 3500 miles per trip, loaded one way, empty returning). I try to keep the tongue on the heavy side, it seems to tow better, but never exceed the 750 pound...
Did my first change yesterday, 5,700 miles. Display said 45 percent life left but I have been towing almost all miles so I decided to change before my next trip (will be about 3500 miles).
Used recommended filter and Mobile 1 oil.
No real problems.
