Thanks.
I just ordered a pack of 10 for $9.98 on Amazon. They have a shoulder, but it is easy enough to extend the threads if needed. 10.9 grade. I'll use loctite blue to insure they stay in place.
One less Ranger weakness to worry about.
I've got the Dayco tensioner coming from Rock Auto. Anyone know the bolt sizes/thread? Not in a hurry, but I'm going to change it. Too many tensioner failures that end up snapping the mounting point.
Has anyone had a tensioner fail and not had the mount point snap off?
I just checked the pulley size at Rock Auto for both the Ranger and a Escape from the different manufacturers. All of manufacturers were within 67mm to 70mm for each model (Ranger and Escape). Ford didn't list the spec.
Basically they are interchangeable from a size perspective. Those who...
You beat me to it! And you are CORRECT! Except I do believe there aren't any good intentions involved in this decision.
Imagine a person in panic (perhaps evading a criminal predator) jumping in the car and it not starting due to behavioral issues.... panic, eyes darting around, crying...
About the time they do away with ASS, they'll have "remote stop", auto remote start" and "refuse to start" embedded in the new model years. And unlike ASS, those "feetures" will be almost impossible to bypass. They''ll have a good reason to rationalize implementation, but they'll never tell...
I had another friend who just died at 103 a couple of years ago. We call his wife almost every day to touch base and send her treats and supplies. She is 95 and still driving. They moved to a small town in SE New Mexico 20 + years ago.
He was US Army infantry and was in every major battle...
A "nickel" sized hole (slug) in you is going to hurt, exp with the impact force. And it's hard to miss with buckshot!
I've got a friend who mounted his on the bed rail. It stays under cover until he hears noise in his home. His bedroom door is reenforced, and his home perimeter alarm system...
If you can't stop someone with five 12 gauge shells, you've got bigger problems.
That said I did extend the tube on my home defense Mossberg SA-20 tactical 20 gauge from 4+1 to 6+1. Tube now extends to the end of the 20" barrel. I've moved to 20 gauge as I've aged, not so tough on the...
This brought back some very fond memories... I hiked Mt Washington in the late fall when visiting a friend. He was part of the conservatory that ran the weather station at the summit. The snow was already very deep, and the buildings up the trail were already under snow, with trenches dug down...
I don't recall which bolts, but I used Loctite Blue.
I have run the driveshaft calculator on both the Ford 2 piece driveshaft and the Tom Woods driveshaft. The Tom Woods outperformed the Ford driveshaft by a substantial margin... and I mean SUBSTANTIAL. 25.6% higher critical speed than the...
It looks like the truck is on ice, so it might move easily, but those buffs were bumping it up in the air... should be some damage. I think AI. I was cleaning up my system and ran across the vid. It has a date of 30 Dec 2025. It probably came from you Dave!
I've owned one for 20 years - back when they were very expensive ($650), and physically much bigger. They work great. My old unit still runs well, but it is not as convenient to use as the modern smaller package designs. It's tubular design is great for air ducts, insert right where the AC...
