The stock BOV recirculates the unused boost back to the intake before the turbo to try to spool the turbo to reduce lag. Either way, if it's done this way or to atmosphere, the engine knows not to account for that air and to wait for the BOV to close and to see what boost happens next.
An aftermarket BOV will have zero effect of performance or wear. If you were adding a bunch of extra boost, there can be something said for an aftermarket BOV holding a higher boost pressure better but it's not an issue anywhere around stock level.
That being said, I have the Turbosmart BOV...
I haven't installed it yet but I have the aFe intercooler pipe kit and will install the Auto Meter Cobalt gauge in the storage area on top of the dash. I got the pod off of Amazon and it fits perfect but I want to find some paint that matches the dash better. Also, instead of trying to wire the...
I think this is partly true. It seems like the RS guys say that mods will improve the curve without a tune but yes, you wont get more max torque without a tune.
I will be installing a boost gauge on the dash tray and I would like to find paint to match. The pod is currently a semi gloss black and it just looks off a little. Anybody have anything that's close?
I will be installing a boost gauge soon and want to know where I can pull power from that works of the same dimmer that the dash lights use. I was thinking off the back of the dimmer switch but wanted to see if anyone here has found a better way. Thanks
I have a 5ft. Access Vanish cover that was on the truck for only a few months. I didn't like how the low profile rails mounted inside the box so I switched over to a regular cover. All the hardware is there but may need new double sided tape to mount the gasket that goes along the front of the...
Pulled this through the hills of the driftless region in WI. The parent's have a new Super Duty but couldn't find the adapter for the hitch. I would say around 3500 lbs with a single pony in back? Did very well, power was not an issue. BTW, that driveway was no joke.
Thank you! They are E only because I wanted the 3 ply sidewalls and I think they ride great. Got the wheels at Summit Racing. They were the cheapest to begin with and then they had another $50 off for Black Friday. I think I got them with all 4 TPMS and the tool for $770.
Edit:
Here's the link...
265/70 R17s BFG KO2s on Raptor wheels with zero mods and no issues. If anybody is worried about that size fitting, KO2s are a good option because they run a little small.
