It fits fine. It's all just fine. I'm never doing that again unless I buy a lot more in the way of specialty tools; the pinion setup in a clamshell is super lame to work with.
And all this time, I thought the front ring gear was welded on Rangers...
Admittedly, I didn't put much effort forth confirming that assumption. I would have gotten 4.88s if I knew. Oh well, the 4.46 pinion is tiny as it is, anyhow.
From the Bronco forum? Heck yeah, those posts were the genesis of the tie rods. Thanks for that! The rest was just digging into specs from Moog's part catalog.
Been waiting on some parts and tools for the regear effort, but I'm enjoying the big meats:
I really expected the performance to be pretty bad with stock gearing, but the 10r80 has a very low 1st gear, so it still crawls in low range well. Driving in "D" mode is kinda miserable now, but...
On that front, see http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html
10r80 ratios are in there and you can manually input whatever you want for anything, if needed.
This is irrational; but the heart wants what the heart wants. In case anyone was curious, here's how I happened to do it:
On the front:
-Bronco control arms (wider than Ranger for slightly more wheel travel and tire clearance)
-F150 tie rods (2010s vintage, if I recall correctly)
-Reamed the...
I bought some dampers, related miscellany, and had some coilover adapters machined. I then slapped all that together to suit my "Branger" front suspension. I love the outcome, even as this is very much a compromise setup in many ways. Now the rear suspension is going to need more work... so...
I started with Bronco upper control arm bolts and a bunch of washers... until I got some steel spacers made and welded onto the UCA mount. I did get to play around with some extra caster adjustment with the washers, lol.
I bought new Motorcraft TX1082 and TX1083 Ranger axles and some used Bronco M190 axles off eBay. I replaced the Ranger center shafts with the longer Bronco center shafts.
I bought the new Ranger axles since my truck came with a tripod style inner CV and they were not compatible with the Bronco...
I haven't checked out this thread in awhile; it is heartening to see some proper villains at work.
As for me, I threw on some Bronco front control arms, cut fenders and went spring under on the rear:
Lower arm bolts on, upper needs a tapered reamer through the upright/spindle and the frame...
Assorted images from some recent jaunts:
Happened upon a nice Tremor with a GFC. I love that color.
Sometimes the Ranger only gets me so far.
Sometimes we have a trailside trim delete:
My presence on R5G is sporadic... Anywho, cut up an XLT grill:
Add aluminum angle and maybe some washers/spacers somewhere around here, cutting/clearancing shrouding as needed for the angle to pass through:
The specific lights I used are Lightforce Striker 170's and I had to buy additional...
Cut the side vents out of the XLT grill, use aluminum angle attached to what I think is intercooler mount kinda like so:

Various "stance" pics of my truck. Rear maybe 1" lower and front 1-1.5" higher than stock with 285/75r17 on +25mm offset wheels:
I guess I like the rear view with stuff in it, lol:
Edit: I am reminded that this truck has a "look back" factor to it that I haven't gotten over in 2 years...
