With the way the pedal box is set up and how soft the ass part of the seat is, I've started to develop pain in my right leg, lower and upper. I've tried 400 different seating positions and can't figure it out but I've noticed that if I slouch in the chair and put more space between the back of...
FWIW, I had another car with an engine that was somewhat of a precursor to the Ecoboost. My car ran better with less knock (basically none at WOT) on an aftermarket tune and I flogged the car for 115k miles (175k on the car) with the tune before I traded it in. People were more likely to blow...
Doesn't the ECU have some sort of reference table for timing/load based on a combination of factors like IAT? If the AFE intake improved air flow but the sensor tells the ECU that the temp has increased by 30 over ambient, would it not provide the ECU with bad data? I wonder why they moved the...
I like to call it the Tiptronic Dance. I probably use the +/- button 100 or so odd times each time I drive the truck. Coming from only manuals my whole life, I suppose this is what I've gotten myself into. It's annoying but apparently can be completely remedied with a tune. My VW GTI buddy has...
My first car had the diff welded and it was fun but stupid. I understeered it into and over a curb and pretty much trashed the front subframe. But the diff itself was bombproof. I abused it mercilessly. The inside wheel would bind up and the tire basically chirped across the pavement. Every now...
Is there something inherent about elockers that causes this? I've gone thru full sets of tires on other cars, one with a homemade spool and another with a clutch type LSD, and have never broken anything.
Not going to work. You would, at minimum, need a small spacer (like 1/4") to gain clearance from the tire to spindle/knuckle and there is a possibility that the tire will rub the crash bars/covers at full lock. Some don't, some do.
Plenty of people do 3" level with the 1/4 inch spacer and 285s...
When I took my truck to the 'ship, there was a printed list of messages/bulletins stapled to the back of the dealer paperwork. I couldn't find the specific document online but it looks like Ford has acknowledged the out of phase situation and i assume they are saying it is "a normal...
Got my truck back. They had to add trans fluid and they also reset the trans adaptive learning. Things have improved but the symptoms still exist. Options are limited. They have Mavericks and broncos and 6G rangers and profits to think about. Ford isn't going to fix this. It's been 3 years. If I...
Well the dealer has given my truck a "clean bill of health". Totally ridiculous. I'm about to go up there and demonstrate the issues to the tech. We'll see where that goes. No one can drive a normal, non-vibration car and then get in mine and not think that something is seriously wrong with it...
