Ha Ha, there used to be one like that on a freeway exit on my way home from university, I used to ride my motorbike at insane speeds around the inside, just under the rail - such fun!

Aren't they an imported pest in Florida? Good time to round up and dispose of them. Wish we had a freeze like that to get rid of the cane toads. Nah, even that probably wouldn't kill them. Those things are unkillable. The Ranger doesn't do a bad job though on a wet night on the road...

Looks good. I've recently made a few things. My new caravan was a new old stock (2023) Adria and was missing a cover for the Truma gas / electric hot water / floor level heating outside flue. Where we live it's kind of necessary, as mud wasps abound this time of year and build in any empty...
  4. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

Wow you guys are really copping it, been watching the reports over here, power out, people dead, and stranded. And we are too, only on the other side of the coin. 50+ Deg C temperatures listed in some central and southern areas yesterday for Australia day, and 1,000 Victorians evacuated...

Even so the scar will remain, you are just using mental makeup over it.
  6. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

Well of course they did, those people are just not qualified to grow their own vegetables.
  7. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

Only saw one goanna, and he was in a field next door. (we live in a semi rural area and our friends own a strawberry farm)

I would have thought that driving it cold would cause even more pollution, but hey what would I know. I can think of far worse things that are done to the planet every day. I imagine that cruise ships and "holiday" plane transport is on the hit list too. (unnecessary fossil fuel use)

You really don't understand do you, how important it is to save that extra 0.001 MPG. Accelerated engine, starter, and battery wear + annoyance is a small price to pay for that. Very first thing I would turn off, thank you Forscan.

Well lets be honest, that's not really that deep.
  11. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

Yeah living in Texas you're probably like me, only get to see that in mud.
  12. Blizzard-Ice Storm January 23-26, 2026

Sorry guys Bwa, Ha, Ha. It's Australia Day today (Australian equivalent to Thanksgiving) so off to a friends place soon to soak in their pool and have a a BBQ and a few beers.
  13. What are you guys towing?

That's a space shuttle on wheels.
  14. Dealer Over Torqued Wheels

So true, eventually they come off, (piece of pipe over the end of a breaker bar) after the thread strips off either the stud, or bolt, or the nut!
  15. Dealer Over Torqued Wheels

Well most manufacturers tell you not to lube them , but if I lived in somewhere like North America or Europe where there was a real winter with salted roads and rust everywhere, I would seriously consider it.
  16. What did you do to your Ranger today?

    Ratatouille perhaps?

Parabolic leaf springs do have some advantages in terms of ride quality and work quite well as long as they're made from good quality spring steel, properly tempered. That's the kicker, too many are made off shore in countries who either don't have the skills, or simply don't care as long as...
  18. What did you do to your Ranger today?

Made some repairs replaced my rapidly crumbling window strips with some new ones which turned up in the mail last week. Fairly easy job all you need is a torx screwdriver or ratchet, and I found a plastic trim tool to be helpful on a couple that didn't want to budge initially. Before and after...
  19. If you are thinking about changing your transmission fluid, read this first

I used one of these, just poked the black tube down the fill hole (it's a bendy plastic coated steel coil) as far as I could get it and sucked out 4 litres easily. https://www.repco.com.au/oils-fluids/fluid-accessories/fluid-transfer/repco-oil-extractor-6l-roe6l/p/A5465142?kwSearch=oil%20extractor

And government, like all other businesses only grows larger and more unresponsive over time. It is the nature of human civilization. It ain't gonna change. Many years ago I was talking to an accreditation inspector during a coffee break in one of our 3 year lab accreditation reviews. Some of...
