I haven't gotten the offer in the mail but I asked my sales rep and he told me that i should be getting the rebate with the pre approved order (I don't remember what it was called) when I gave them the check b.c. and my DL.
I agree but I would go with more of an SUV feel than a truck feel because the height. When I drove the Tacoma and the Colorado It felt like I was driving a slightly smaller truck. The Ranger had a car like but more of a SUV like feel. The hood rounds down so you don't see all of the giant flat...
At 6:35 in the video he gets on the gas. You can hear a little rumble but no turbo wine and that was what I remember from my test drive. I agree with his assessment of the acceleration that it is "peppy not fast"
I've only driven a pre production Ranger at the SF Ranger drive event and haven't seen any global Rangers so can't compare. I'm not saying they weren't comfortable but they defiantly didn't wrap around my side snugly, granted I'm fairly thin. I've already ordered a new Ranger so I'm committed...
I was only able to sit in an XLT so can't speak for the leather. I thought the seats were pretty comfortable. There seemed to be plenty of butt and back support but they fit a little loose for my tasted width wise. Most truck seats seem to be a little wide and don't cradle your side like sports...
Granted my test drive was in San Francisco and consisted of about 14 blocks total with traffic. I only had a couple of short stretches to get on it hard. I don't remember hearing the turbo wine like the F150 2.7. There was a slight turbo lag like all turbos have but not terrible.
If the area you live in is mostly flat I would get a locker and SNOW tire not all season tire and save the money on the 4wd. If you get stuck the locker should get you out of most situations on flat ground. I've seen several studies that showed that SNOW tires (Blizzak or similar) on a 2wd...
I'm 6'2 and my wife is 5'6 when I was driving she sat behind me and had plenty of leg room. When I went to the back it was a little tight when it was adjusted for me but when she moved it up for her I had plenty of leg room in the back. Unless you fill the truck with a bunch of 6 foot + guys leg...
I wonder how much of an impact the front Air Dam has on fuel economy. It will be interesting to see if there is a difference in MPG with the FX4 package.
They said they were towing 2 trailers with them one weighed 6000# and the other around 2500#.
The person pulling the 2500# said they were comfortably doing 60 mph with the trailer and hand no shortage of power pulling over the mountain passes.
On the 4wd the front Differential is completely separated from the power train by the transfer case and the front hub will be unlocked in 2wd so the front hubs will spin completely free of the drive train. So in 2wd mode the only differance between the 2wd truck and 4wd truck is a little...
