Took our first trip this weekend to a state park. Drove it back to its storage facility today, about an hour on the highway with up to 40 mph wind gusts! I must say I noticed it, but never felt I wasn't in control. We're taking it down to TX next weekend, so that should be the real test.

Cross posting, but I think this belongs here. With the help of many on this forum, I was finally able to take my first trip while towing our new TT (Vintage Cruiser 23RSS). The Ranger pulled it without any drama. Looking forward to our first camping trip with it next weekend!
I follow the manual and do it once a year. My Ranger will be 4 years old this month and has 10k miles. Those are basically 3 long trips, one a year. It just sits in the garage the majority of time. It's never even seen snow. Since we just purchased a travel trailer, I will probably be changing...
That linked socket filter adapter is what wasn't working for me, either. It was rounding the filter's edge. Using this 3 pronged adapter with an extension worked perfectly.
This! I just went through the same thing a few weeks ago. I normally do oil changes with the truck on the ground, but needed to jack up the left front tire to get enough leverage to get it off. I used a 12" extension with the 3 arm universal oil filter adapter. Worked like a charm! I was sure...
It seems to be good, but haven't towed the trailer yet. It's still too cold here, so all I did was hook it up and make sure it saw the trailer.
I only removed the bottom fuse panel to get to the wires. I could find it much easier if I ever had to do it again. They were the only wires wrapped...
Congrats and welcome to the first time travel trailer owner group! We just bought a new Vintage 23RSS, which is close in spec's to yours. So far, I've added a Teckonsha Brake Controller, a Fastway e2 8k WDH, a Furrion Vision S camera and some cheap add-on mirrors. I had it hooked up to the the...
I finally got around to installing this. It took me over an hour to just locate the 4 wires! Once that was behind me, it was just a matter connecting everything up and figuring out where to put it. I'm getting the RV setup with the WDH tomorrow, so I'll hook it up and hope it sees it.
Thanks for taking the time to do this! I really need them to fold tighter, I decided to try my luck with some cheap clip-ons from Amazon for now. Worst case, I hate them and go with the Clearview's in a few weeks. I'm only out $40 if they don't pan out.
Love the plates! :)
Since you have a Lariat, do your mirrors have the power fold feature? I need to fold mine when parking in the garage, since we have it pretty loaded up with stuff we'll never use. That, and my wife's smaller daily driver needs more room. I assume they fold in close like the...
Bumping this thread, as I'm going to take delivery of our trailer soon.
Our trailer is 7' 6" wide, so I assume the OEM mirrors will be lacking. These appear to be the best option, but are really pricy! I would need want the full featured pair at >$1k. For those of you that have purchased...
After almost 4 years of looking, my wife and I finally purchased something to tow. A Gulf Stream Vintage Cruiser 23RSS travel trailer. So, I obviously now need a brake controller for the Ranger. I originally wanted to go with the, now discontinued, Ford approved controller, but was not...
I haven't read through this whole thread, but I'll reply to the opening post.
I never fill up when my gauge is above 1/2. I usually fill up when it's below 1/4, or the fuel light comes on. I hate stopping for gas, so I try and do it as few times as possible.
This thread would probably benefit...
Most, if not all garage door openers have a vacation mode setting on the inside control. It removes all remote functionality while set. That's what I would use if I was worried about someone trying to open my garage door from my truck's Homelink buttons. Might not be convenient if you have...
