True, I was just in there yesterday attaching my splash shield correctly…Technician put the bottom left trim pin in the frame but forgot to actually put the pin through the splash shield first..😆
It does appear they lost the very bottom pin though…Ford Part W715694S300 if you ever need.

I fall in the change oil every 6 months regardless of miles (usually 4,000 - 6,000 mile range though on both our vehicles) camp and it has not let me down yet. Yesterday I had 3,700 miles since my November 2025 change and still had the Ford dealer do it. Oil and BG additive are cheap, engine...
5/16/2026 UPDATE :
I ended up changing the rear differential fluid again at 75,000 miles. I placed an Amsoil order for my small engine oils/grease and decided to grab two more quart packs of their Severe Gear 80W-90 oil. I already had a spare drain and fill plug handy from the original job and...
Not sure if anyone knows but coming from a ME/QE in the electronics manufacturing field (me) it is always possible a bad lot of parts or a bad lot of internal parts in these sensors got installed on our trucks. We may never know for sure.
The markings are the same minus Date Code/Lot Code on my...
I have had this “feature” for 4 years now on my 2019…it always happens between 3rd and 4th gear at around the 25 mph to 30 mph range as you stated. Usually I will only notice it once per day and it is like the truck can not decide if it wants to go into 4th gear.
I am just calling it a feature...
I sourced them from parts.ford.com. At the time they did free shipping no minimum (not sure if they still do)..
It may be possible to clean them ; I noticed the MAF sensor had plenty of oil on it so a caustic cleaner could mess with the plastic and rubber o-ring. Not sure if MAF cleaner or...
To date what I have done is Plugs, DPFE, MAPT sensor, and IAT.
I had to drop my truck off for weeks at the dealer last summer and they performed the TSB where they reset everything.
I still have a slight hesitation sometimes once or twice a day (warmer months) in the 3rd to 4th gear shift but...
I was able to get it close enough by hand tight with my 3/8 ratchet. I may have used the in-lb torque wrench a second before it clicked. It was the Harbor Freight special in-lb wrench for the record.
1 year later no misfires or anything so I must have done something right. ?
The good news is these OEM Motorcraft plugs are made by NGK. They plate the threads with tri-chrome (you can see the sheen in my image) so there is no reason to use anti-seize!
I only used dielectric grease inside the coil boot to assist with removal in the future.
It’s a decent tool for removing spring hose clamps. I originally bought mine to help with the DPFE sensor but I found regular ol pliers worked better in that situation.
Definitely do not need it for the Spark-plug job though.
On the flip side if you want to go ahead and change your plugs, I have a write up for that too. I just hit 60,000 miles on my ‘19 Lariat and did plugs, DPFE Sensor, and MAPT sensor. Engine wise truck is solid.
Glad to see it helping others ; I always try to post on here stuff when there’s not many accompanying YouTube videos so you aren’t completely in the dark when it comes time to repair something!
Just remember what really helped my issue was having the dealership reflash and learn my...
I will say if you are still under warranty might want to go to the dealer and have them reflash the transmission (Steps 1 & 2 of TSB 24-2046). That is ultimately what has helped.
Keep an eye on it. Mine is on Week 2 waiting debug from my Ford Dealer. A few weeks after posting this I can still feel it and I skip 4th gear every now and then completely. I am pretty sure there is an actual manufacturing defect internal to the CDF drum on early Rangers. I am within 1000 miles...
