Well my “Moody Blue” 2019 Ranger is no more as I damaged right side after I hit a tree - didn't look that major as no frame or front end damage occurred. Insurance advised not economical to repair (89,000Km) so i accepted a payout and local auto auction people picking up today.
Sad i really...
I noticed wear marks on both front wheel hub assemblies near lower ball joint / lower control arm. Have had a Fox 2.0 1.5” lift quite a while now using stock 265/65/17 tires. Recently install 285/70/17 Falken Wildpeak tires with Fuel Covert -14mm offset
Yes I ended up taking to a shop and they got both bolts out of the captive nuts - they also had a hell of a time and they broke the other bolt as well - I believe they used heat but can't remember how they ended getting the remainder of bolt out of the captive nuts.
I now have the bumps stops...
Yes that is my concern that i dont overload the truck capacities - maybe my description of “sags pretty bad” in an over reaction as it just surprised me that the load i was carrying dropped the rear end as much - going to get some measurements unloaded and loaded again and go from there
Lucky - broke the bolt on mine and ended up taking a shop and they broke the second - mine was a 2019 and just changed out last fall so may have been rusted more - use lots of penetrant and maybe some heat as well - not always easy ?
Thankyou Yes i am keeping an eye on weight as last i checked it was very close to max total weight while still not max weight on rear axle - had made some plywood slides out for all the camping gear but now back on a weight loss program when discovered i was so close to limit of the ranger -...
I have a stock 2019 FX4 daily driver with a RSI Cap and RTT ( tent and camping geat not on all the time).
With all gear ond tent on pretty well maxed out payload limit and sags pretty bad - i did try some Timbren bump stops which helped when loaded but dont think is the best solution yet...
2019 - yes the bump stop slipped out easy- was trying to take bolt out to install Timbren SES bump stop and bolt snapped - i figure the top nut is spot welded to frame - easy job turned into a pain
Thanks for suggestions Drew
i dont think the decked system is much lighter though considering added a sheet of plywood to bolt it too - i also have the full bed rug so that may have to go - have you ever weighed it with full load?
Good question - I think I used 3 sheets of 3/4" plywood minus some scrap + one 44" HD locking slide so estimate storage slide around 180 - 200 lbs? Tent is 156 lbs and RSI cap - 200 lbs - and haven't even included water.... time for some load shedding redesign
MY 2019 Crewcab FX4 that had a 1" droop on both front and rear drivers side - dealer changed out rear leaf springs and improved a little (1.2 -3.4" to within specs according to dealer) but after another 15000km droop is back to where it was
Good to see you got your original question answered - I saw it but was freezing out last night and didn't want to climb up and measure in the dark.... on a side note I have switched too the RSI Smartcap as well and a 2 person 4 season Treeline RTT (156 lbs) so along with my DYI drawer setup and...
