I have been working on adding quite a bit of info to the comparison.
Updated - All info is now based on Crew Cab short bed variants to enable to best comparison across the board.
New - Approach/Breakover/Departure angles have been added as well as Ground Clearance and Crawl Ratio.
*** Fields...
Expect to have to at least level the front of the truck out for those tires to fit. You might even have to do some creative trimming up front for turning clearance. Full lock in reverse is usually where you will hear rubbing.
Updated Comparison
One thing I plan to address is the lack of a 6 foot bed on the crew cab. The other trucks have 6 foot bed options with crew cab and that is reflected in the wheelbase making the comparison slightly skewed. It could also slightly impact a few other stats.
There is a long article speculating that since the world Ranger is going to be due for a facelift in a few years, Ford will likely wait till the new body style to put a Ranger Raptor out in the US.
Makes me wonder if swapping button wiring with a tune change would make it disabled by default and then when you hit the button it would enable and light the button telling you it is on.
The only trucks that feel the same stock vs lifted are the Canyon/Colorado Diesel and the Nissan Frontier.
• The Canyon/Colorado diesel feels fantastic lifted due to all the torque and actually starts to roll in idle when you take your foot off the brake. This truck actually felt better lifted...
On thing that is unique about this is there are bumper flares that extend the front bumper out to match up with the fender flares. Painted in that gloss black it is hard to tell but they are visible. Bumper flares are interesting and definitely give the truck a bit more of a finished appearance.
Your truck likely had a manual locker built into the rear wheel hubs. Drove an older SuperDuty (work) that we would have to manually lock the rear diff by twisting the lock caps. The E-Locker just means you don't have to get out of your vehicle.
Easily the best thing GM has come out with in the past few years as far as I am concerned!
For me, I drive an Altima currently. It handles great as it has a relatively low center of gravity. Aside from that, I won't miss it at a all. Time to get back into a Ranger!
That F-150 is also made out of enough Aluminum that they claim over 700 lbs of weight savings from the previous steel version. There isn't enough Aluminum in the Ranger to make that kind of weight savings. So even at 4,200 lbs, it would be impressive.
