Went through DT for my Falken Wildpeaks last month, guys were easy to work with, good price and did what I asked. Only thing was they forgot to put my old tires in the bed, but halfway home I noticed and turned around, they apologized and tossed em in.
Make an appointment, in and out relatively...
I wear size 14 shoes and am wondering how the hell ya'll are putting your foot on the pedal.
I press with the ball of my foot, so that sits in the middle of the pedal, and my toe has inches of clearance.
Yup, I accepted all those things when I first bought the truck. First generation in the US had me a bit wary, but I've got the most bone stock XL you could get with 4x4, so bells and whistles, there aren't many.
As long as Ford honors the warranty, I have no problem if stuff breaks. Feel bad...
No idea, never got to see the thing. "Motor Asy" definitely sounds like one, they kept calling it an "actuator."
The fact that its on backorder tells me I'm not the only one.
I've been told by trusted mechanics in the past that you shouldn't worry about injector cleaner until like 25,000 miles+
Traditionally I've used Lucas, haven't dove that far into it as I'm only up to 4500.
Thanks man! It was a little tricky painting them in the cold, but I'm super pleased with how they turned out. Saved me the $900 or so from buying aftermarket ones just to have black rims.
After scuffing, 2 coats primer, 3 coats wheel paint, 2 coats matte wheel clearcoat I believe was my recipe...
Finally got my Shrockworks Rock Sliders installed today as well. Look like they were meant to be there.
I opted for no top plate though. Haven't drilled the hole yet, leaving that for another day.
A little update: Still haven't seen any paperwork, but apparently, the tech was worried that they needed to replace the entire HVAC system, but the service counter lady didn't want to inconvenience me more, so they were going to have the guy come in the next week (this week) to fix it...
Finally got my Shrockworks Rock Sliders today that were part of the group buy.
Hope it was worth it, nearly 2 months without a word from them, no response to emails, then suddenly a call from the freight company. Might get to install this weekend.
Mine will say that for a second when the truck starts up. Just a reminder that Ford is reusing a stereo thats probably a decade old and never even bothered to change the boot order in the device code.
Apparently "some other part" had fallen out of place, they got it all back together and working. The Ford Service Manual troubleshooter they use ran out of suggestions even, because apparently the truck is too new.
After testing, they found that there is an ultrasonic whine in the system still...
To their credit, the dealer worked to get someone in on Saturday, so they wouldn't have to give me a loaner or rental or whatever.
Brought it in, 90 minute repair, chatted with my sales guy, and my heat worked. Huzzah, took off to the next town over to meet a friend for lunch and a Star War, 20...
The dealer sucks but if Ford are the ones who built the truck that broke after 3 months, and if it's true their warranty only covers 4 hours of shop time? Then they are just as go blame as the dealer.
Also, Ford authorizes these people to use their brand. That means Ford is totally okay with...
Driving around I turned off my heater yesterday, which caused a loud pop, crack, and a ratcheting sound.
This morning, I got the joy of having no heat in my 3 month old truck. Called the dealer, they say they can fit me in this afternoon, I ask off from work, get to the dealer within an hour...
So we're now a month out with zero communication from the vendor. Thats fun when you're purchasing a $600 item.
Can't say I'd really recommend the experience.
