That would explain the ratchetting sound after the initial crack. It was grinding the little plastic gears trying to operate it.

Finally got my Shrockworks Rock Sliders installed today as well. Look like they were meant to be there. I opted for no top plate though. Haven't drilled the hole yet, leaving that for another day.

A little update: Still haven't seen any paperwork, but apparently, the tech was worried that they needed to replace the entire HVAC system, but the service counter lady didn't want to inconvenience me more, so they were going to have the guy come in the next week (this week) to fix it...

So we're now a month out with zero communication from the vendor. Thats fun when you're purchasing a $600 item. Can't say I'd really recommend the experience.
