  1. Dealing with frame rust

I don't know what Gorilla is like, but if it's rubberized at all, don't use it. Shouldn't even really use spray paint it does the same thing., traps moisture......
  2. Dealing with frame rust

I've heard good things about it, but I've never used it myself. Lots of guys on the Facebook Lanolin/Oil Undercoating Users page seem to like it.
  3. Overkill fluid changes

I can't explain it either. All I know is that the issue was there driving into my garage and gone when backing out of it.
  4. Overkill fluid changes

I bought my Ranger used with somewhere between 15-20k on it. Figured I'd change both diffs and transfer case fluids because I didn't know what kind of life the truck had before bought it, it's a simple DIY, and I'm a bit OCD. All three fluids were so full of metal dust that they looked like...
  5. Now they ( Amsoil) came out with there ULV transmission fluid

2 coats of that ceramic spray lasted me though a Canadian Winter, nothing else ever has before.
  6. Dealing with frame rust

I've been the undercoating game on & off for 20 years. Find someone in your area that undercoats with either Fluid Film, Wool Wax or Surface Shield and keep it sprayed yearly. I wouldn't worry about mild surface rust, these products will stop it in it's tracks and keep it from spreading. In...
  7. Now they ( Amsoil) came out with there ULV transmission fluid

I've been a Preferred Customer for 10+ years, there's ways to save! I only get a 6 month membership, I order at the beginning of the 6 months and before it runs out I buy bulk to last me a good long time before I renew it. I also use everything they sell other than fluids....grease, fuel...
  8. Easy bed tie-downs

I've got the factory tie downs but I've unused threaded holes in my box, I'm considering a couple of these. Cast iron........
  9. Engine oil additive - Cera Tec

The rust will get it long before you have oil related problems. Put your money towards a good lanoline undercoating every year instead.
  10. Back Seat covers for my 2021 Ranger XLT extended cab. I dont have a bench seat its 50/50 jump seats i need covers for

I assume you're looking for covers for the back seats? I couldn't find any, so I just use one of those 'back seat dog hammock' things anytime I'm carrying dirty stuff back there.
  11. Getting with the times

I also went from a 4G to the 5G, and now I'm considering going to a hybrid Maverick now that it's available in AWD. I miss the smaller truck and all it's benefits, mainly the fuel economy. As much as as I love my 5G it's not really a Ranger, to me. But, it's almost paid for, so there's that...
  12. Front diff fluid type

That's not a thing. Companies don't submit their oil for OEM testing, because the OEM's don't even blend their own oil. It's a meaningless certification. Or is it because they use additives that prevent them from meeting OEM requirements.......There's only a small handful of companies that...
  13. Front diff fluid type

I've changed mine twice with Amsoil, no problems. If their website recommends any fluid on their vehicle lookup, it fine to use.
  14. Just bought used at 34,000 miles.

Fluids....oil, transfer case, and both diffs asap, I'd put the transmission fluid on your to-do list. I don't know if PA is in the salt belt or not, but I'd start a yearly undercoating with a lanolin product.
  15. The 10R80 needs this technology

I'd be happy with a drain plug in the transmission pan!
  16. UPDATE....transmission issue, what should I ask them to check?

Hard shifting from Park to Drive & Reverse on cold days, almost constant gear hunting/hesitations when pulling away at green lights. Pretty much all the same issues everyone's had with 5G transmissions. Plus, at 20k, both diffs and transfer case fluids looked like grey milk, there was so much...
  17. UPDATE....transmission issue, what should I ask them to check?

Tell them you want to buy your own fluids, take it with you to your appointment, and have them change them. My dealership was ok with it.
  18. UPDATE....transmission issue, what should I ask them to check?

17, 250 miles.....change out your transmission, transfer case, front & diff fluids with something other than Motorcraft. I can't guarantee it'll solve your issue, but it solved mine. I replaced them all at 20k and hindsight being 20/20 I should have changed them all out the day the day I...
  19. Regular Maintenance Matters

I've caught a lot of abuse for this in the past, but I accidentally solved my transmission 'gear hunting/hesitation' the day I changed my transfer case fluid. I have NO idea how it worked, but it did.
