That’s a pretty weak response. Ford stated nothing of this issue. Even their Ford Performance level 2 and 3 rangers state they can tow 7500lbs. They are contradicting that by saying you shouldn’t tow with this tune. I’m not going to take blame for trying to optimize my truck and stay within a...
Unfortunately I think you’re right. They aren’t taking responsibility for this. Nor are they responding to my emails.
Has anyone else emailed or called them?
I’m not looking for anything crazy, i just want them to make it right. I just feel like we were lied to by then omitting that bit of information early on.
I totally hear what you’re saying and I’m trying to do the right thing here. I will probably go with that tune and be done with Ford Performance after this. Still going to fight them on this though.
This may not effect you, but I put a lot of money into my Ranger to make it tow better. Especially getting this tune and now they say we shouldn’t tow with it. Whether you agree or not I know others do and I’m going to hold them accountable.
I have started a new thread. https://www.ranger5g.com/forum/threads/ford-performance-tune-towing-issue-lawsuit.11416/#post-217754
You will find out more information there as I get it. Also I have the contact info for a guy there who we should send our complaints to.
The issue here is many of us have gotten the Ford Performance tune and just recently found out it’s not recommended to tow with. When I ordered my tune there was no statement on their website stating it’s not recommended. I got mine specifically to tow. Yesterday I spoke with Ford Performance...
I contacted Ford performance and told me to email them. They are completely unaware that others are having an issue not knowing about the towing. They 100% changed their website and I’m not going to stop. This is the email I sent. I’m beyond pissed right now.

I’m about to switch to 16” factory steel wheels. I’m wondering what’s the largest size I can get with a 3” level and 1” block in the rear. I’m looking at three sizes. 235/85R16, 265/75R16, and the unlikely 285/75R16. I’m looking at these sizes because they come in the BFGoodrich Ko2. Any input...
Well I got the Gibson exhaust and I ran into the same problem. There was no reducer on the intake of the muffler. Not impressed with this company. Now I’ll be driving around with a jacked up exhaust till they fix their mistake.
