I’ve done this swap. Reused the gasket. Meant to be reused. There is a specific torque sequence to follow as well. No leaks, so I was very happy about that.
I found that re-adding the FP tune after removing it to link up to Forscan and turn it off the adaptive teams simply reactivates the adaptive learning again. To me it appears this functionality will only work with a stock tune truck.
I’ve looked into making my own motor mounts since there are no polyurethane replacements yet. Best option is to order a solid polyurethane cylinder of the right diameter, cut to the right height, drill the center for a really long high grade bolt and nut. Push threaded end of bolt from bottom up...
There is a thread from a few yrs ago where someone bricked their Ranger using Forscan with FP tune installed. I believe the safest course is to return to stock, made Forscan changes, return to FP tune.
Agreed on the Forscan initiate ABS bleed. Stops like a different truck after that. Highly recommend as that might change the direction you choose for upgraded brake lines (of which I am a fan).
If there is any extra wear incurred by having the adaptive process off I will gladly accept that over having erratic shift patterns. I also change the fluid and filter every 30k vs 150k that the manual states, so that will help to minimize if there are any impacts from increased wear too.
Update. I’ve never had the truck shift as good as it has been after past adaptive shifting resets. The only difference now vs past resets is that I utilized the setting to not allow adaptive shift strategy after I cleared the adaptive shift strategy from the truck.
According to feedback here on the forum using Forscan with the FP tune installed causes issues.

I also did a Google search for “forscan with tune” and found a lot of threads from other forums where people with...
Unfortunately you cannot use Forscan to verify anything while a tune is installed. So at this point knowing how the truck shifts with the FP tune the past 2.5yrs and comparing to how it settles into the shift strategy post-Forscan tweak is my only point of reference.
Update. I became disappointed yesterday because at first I thought the adaptation must have been reinstated when reloading the FP tune, as I started to experience some weird shifting again. However today the truck has been shifting much better with more predictability vs the normal “what was...
This is just my perspective, but even with the FP improving the shifting, 3-4 shift still had some significant flare at times. Annoys me to no end. The flare is part of the adaptive behavior as when I reset the adaptations there is no flare for the first day of driving. After that it returns. So...
It is not needed with the FP tune, but I installed a step colder plugs with my FP tune and runs great. Cheap insurance against any potential knock / pinging which would pull timing…
Finally got to drive the truck around today. Happy to report none of the weird adaptive shifting behaviors yet that I encountered after past resets. I have a long commute tomorrow and that will be a better test if adaptation behaviors are truly deactivated. More to come…
It’s because he speeds up the playback speed of the video to 1.25 speed to fit in more content faster. YouTube has stats on views vs video length and when you have as many subscribers as he has YT has a consultant assigned to his account that provides him such info. They want his videos...
