Thank you to the person who mentioned using spouse's knitting needle to hook damper loop to reinstall to post on glove box after changing cabin air filter. I fashioned a hook from a coat hanger and it worked great. Don't remember if I read it on this forum or somewhere else, but THANK YOU 100x...
...for the past few months and im finally finding time to fix it. i pulled a code up on a engine scan tool that mentioned "right side temperature damper motor mechanical failture" or something along those lines. Thankfully i dont have dual zone climate so it appears i may be able to replace the...
Set of Redline Tuning hood lift struts and a DeeZee tailgate damper for a gen 5 Ford Ranger (2019-2023). (mounting bolts for damper are wrapped in white tape). These were on the vehicle for about 300 miles. Cost new for the struts and damper was $125.75
Asking $75 for both sets for local...
I happened to be in ForScan today adjusting a setting for my Ranger, and discovered a few stored codes in the FCIM: B1081:07-08 and B1081:13-08. This appears to be the dreaded blend door problem that these trucks frequently run into, and I understand that repairing/replacing that motor requires...
Replaced my air intake damper actuator today. I've been able to hear/see it dancing around after the vehicle is shut off as it searched for position, and I was intermittently getting FCIM code B11F0:15-08 - Air Intake Damper Position Sensor Additional Fault Symptom: - Circuit Short To Battery...
Looks like I'll be needing to replace my left A/C Damper Motor due repeated sensor failures indicated by B11E5:15-08 and intermittent weird temperatures from the vents.
I've got a dual zone system in my 2019 Ranger, so there are two motors on the left side of the HVAC Unit Case. Pretty sure...
After pushing the DeeZee Damper for so many years, its time to remove the damper and start building up arm strength again.
I'm going to need some assistance because I can't pop the strut off its tabs and there is certainly no way I can remove the T50 Torx.
Anyone willing to assist?

I’m wondering if I can find a tailgate damper that functions down to -40. (Looking at you Dave) I know the DeeZee one tends to slow and seize at lower temps, and I am not interested in dealing with that. If anyone has any suggestions, I am open to all, including product links, name calling, and...
Gate King used to make a product for the Ranger that allowed it to lock at a 45 degree angle. This was more attractive to me than the simple damper. Then they stopped making it.

Thanks to Dave @AzScorpion , I installed an upgraded TGD.
Initial results show ET reduced by two seconds and a 10 % increase in HP and Torque.
Also see an increase in bicep and tricep strength.
Ok so I know the tailgate damper is extremely popular but for me it’s take it or leave it I guess. I’ve not been in situation where I couldn’t just lower it by hand so it doesn’t slam. But hey it’s only like $40 so why not right? Before I get one I’d like to know if there’s anything any of you...
Is there a way I can disable the tailgate damper without removing it? You know a switch or something.. only to be rarely used.
It would be nice to show off to the ladies that I can handle a tailgate without the need for a damper..
Hey you all know when that moment arrives, I just want to be...
Are you supposed to remove the driver side steel braided cable support after install of damper? I noticed mine is getting beat up after damper install.
Now that Dave’s on vacation is it safe to remove the tailgate damper? Or will the check tailgate light still come on? I have to do it my garage so no one calls CPS on me.
Any suggestions??
...Maverick Truck Club forum as we are waiting for my wife’s Maverick to be built and delivered..
There are a few threads about the famous/infamous damper. Install issues mostly but hey it’s probably peoples first truck. Same banter whether you need one or not. ?
Dave to the rescue...
I installed the DeeZee tailgate damper tonight to ensure my arms stay weak and my kids don’t get hit by a falling tailgate.
Included in the package were 2 small black clips not listed on the parts list or instruction steps.
Does anyone know what these do?
