I know I'm probably going to get some shit for this, but it was still pretty fun. I wanted to test out my new suspension setup, and I'm proud to say that it works pretty damn well for how little I spent. Yes, I know that this is dangerous, but I had a spotter to ensure no cars were coming. The...
I did get the grimms, so far they seem somewhat decent. Not perfect, a little annoyed of the quality of the zerk fittings. I’m like 95% percent sure they use all the parts from the icon upper control arms except for the actual uniball. It’s funny because it says Grimm off road but it has icon...
After owning the Ranger for about 2 years, I am interested in giving her a little more power. I am curious what the best tuning option really is. Keep in mind it has 85,000 miles, so one of the most important things is keeping some reliability. I'm not interested in the most power; I just want...
Im starting the think the same thing. I haven’t had any issues with the front 2.5s but now I’m a little worried because of what just happened. Im probably going to get king 2.5s for the rear so she can boogie.
I think I’m going to give them a call later because something with there design clearly isn’t within specs of the shocks they are selling. Both of them ruptured after one big hit is not justified.
I don’t think it really had anything to do with the springs, I was definitely pushing her hard. I just assume that either the shocks aren’t designed to be used with the additional uptravel of the new or they weren’t long enough to compensate for full droop travel.
So recently (1 week ago) I put on some icon 2.0 that I did buy used and a brand new icon bump stops kit to improve the rear end performance of the truck. Keep in mind according to icon this set up should work well since they sell it in there stage 3 kit. Today was the first true off road test...
Today I installed Icons bump stop kit. Overall the installation wasn’t too difficult. I’ve heard snapping the bolt is fairly common when installing but I used some lube and it come out pretty clean. Overall the ride is slightly better and I should have gained a little more travel out back.
After rebuilding my icon 2.5s I had just recently purchased a pair of Grimm off road uniball upper control arms. Anyone got experience with these. They seem to be a great value especially compared to camburg and icon. Only 414$ after tax compared to 900$. If anyone is interested I bought them...
