So I am planning on doing one of these Backcountry Discovery Routes and I'm curious if anyone would be willing to join in for the fun?!

Due to funding at the moment, I would have to do this in August or September. I'm thinking of doing Colorado, New Mexico or Wyoming. The plan is to take an entire week off work for this as well. I would most likely leave my place on Saturday Morning heading to the starting point then start the trail on Sunday Morning. The plan would be to camp along the route and hopefully finish the trail the following Saturday and head home on Sunday.

I would be in my 2012 Frontier of course and I don't mind the idea of running with other vehicles like the Ranger. I just feel it would be better to have the run done with at least one other vehicle for just in case reasons.

So who might be interested in this and help make the decision on what route to choose.

EDIT: so I may just do the Colorado BDR in little 3 day weekend runs for a few parts. That still leaves Wyoming and New Mexico on the Table. According to the BDR Site, Wyoming would be easier to do in 7 days vs New Mexico.

Well a little update indeed.

I have decided to go ahead and do the Wyoming Backcountry Discovery Route. I'm still looking at August or September for this run. It would start on a Saturday simply to get to the start of the trail and start the next day. Hopefully the trail will be finished the following Saturday and leaving Sunday to head back home.

Anyone interested in joining? Yes you will be running with a Nissan on this trip, but it doesn't mean it won't be fun.

Well I am still looking to have some individuals join in for the fun. I am currently looking at doing this more in August. I have one friend that is looking to join for the first couple of days at the least. Thanks to the design of the Backcountry Discovery Routes, you do not have to do the entire trail in one go. I am even willing to meet people part way. I will have a GMRS in my vehicle with two FRS Radios with Privacy Channels set.

With that all said is there anyone that would be interested in a go at this?

I would definitely be down for something like this next summer! I'm already looking at the Black Hills BDR-X. This summer is packed with family trips already. Currently my Ranger is stock but looking at a Bilstein front suspension to level the truck when it's time for some new grippier tires. How do you think a stock setup would be on a BDR run?

It's truly going to depend on the BDR. Most of the BDRs are designed to be pretty simple. That said there can be sections that are going to be challenging.
