I think that it might have been. Did you notice the little wet spots on the jeans near where it bit? I'm thinking that might have been the poison released from the fangs and seeping into the denim.

Dude's got cool though; he doesn't appear to have pissed himself, which would be totally understandable given the circumstances.

I don't know enough about vipers to know if that would work, but I do know that I'd only want to try if its head was restrained. If the damn thing releases, it means it can make another strike, and Lady Luck might be a little too fickle the next time around.
