Has anyone tried HIDs in the ranger? I know this is like a 2000s throw back but I have always had good luck with them. They are actually bulbs so they mimic the filament of a standard bulb well. They last a pretty long time, and increase output considerably.

A solid kit is roughly $250. Heck of a lot cheaper than LED housings. Tried LED drop ins a few years back and removed them after a few days. Poor pattern, lots of bleed, illegal, ect. So looking to get the extra throw while resembling a legal level of blinding people.

It's not drop in but I did a HID retrofit in my Focus several years ago. I used Morimoto H1 mini projectors, those were the best headlights I've ever used. I like them better than Rangers OEM LED units

Hid's don't belong in a ranger, projectors or not. They'll be worse than LEDs.

Should be outlawed for general after market IMO but MUH FREEDOMs and all that.
Well I always rocked 35w. And lined them up properly. Better than LEDs honestly from my experience.

I used these and the light pattern is great. Nice clean cut off with the low beams. I have had them in for 2 years and nobody has ever flashed me because they are too bright. High bean gets way down the road. The highs didn't light up to the sides enough and we have a LOT of wildlife where I live so I added the Diode Dynamics kit for the back road, aimed slightly to the sides. https://www.auxito.com/products/900...lbs-for-high-and-low-beam-24000lm-6500k-white
