Yeah, I agree with you they should be linked. Especially if you have your LTC you've already gone through a rigorous background check. Mines a catch 22 because I can't get my LTC until I get my license. Also if you apply for it (LTC) within 90 days you don't have to retake the LTC test which is nice.

While I was a little annoyed at first the more I thought about it the more it made sense. I'd rather the states (that care) be doing a little extra making sure you are who you say you are than, well you know. I had brought my SS card, Passport, copies of a utility bill & lease agreement, current DL and first page of my '23 tax return. Just in case I even brought my birth certificate and internet bill. lol The first time I went (2 weeks ago) I didn't know you needed all this and thought they'd just need your DL. I wasn't taking any chances this time not having all the right credentials. lol
I definitely appreciate that happening. being in a state where well over 20+billion dollars is missing that was used for “the war on homelessness” and all you need to prove who you are is whatever you say you are and bring someone who agrees with you..(yes I know it’s not exactly like that, dang near close enough ?.)

You really have to look for that one as you can't see it straight on until you tilt it at an angle.
maybe you’re having difficulty because you have to cross your eyes to see the license properly.?

It is a really nice area and so far we're loving it here. Even Annie is warming up to it more and more and just said this morning how pretty everything is here being all green instead of all brown back in AZ. You're right almost everything here is geared towards the outdoors. From golfing, boating, mnt biking and hiking there's a lot to do. It's nice to be able to actually get out and do stuff here in the summer instead of being stuck indoors in 112+ heat. We had 3 days of mid - high 90's then rain yesterday and now the next week with be mid 80's/days and low - mid 60's nights.

We're right at that stage where we're winding down our careers and luckily she can work from home so that made it a lot easier. Rogers, Springdale and Fayetteville are really growing so I'd imagine even being younger and single it would still be an attractive place. With Walmart building their huge corporate office/city now it's bringing in a lot of younger families. One lady told me this morning at the DMV they (Walmart) expect to bring in 13,000 people for hire.
Looks nice Dave, but don't know if I could live there, too far from the coast! We Aussies mostly like to live near the water. https://soe.dcceew.gov.au/coasts/pressures/population

I hear ya Cam I love the coast too but we do have 6 lakes in our community that are only open to residents here. We're on the largest lake (Loch Lomond) and my lot is right across the street from it so we're hoping to have a slight water view when the leaves fall. I'd have to have worked until 70 to be able to afford one directly on the water! lol After living in a desert for over 9 years I'm happy just having water this close by. :tumbleweed:

You know you're in the south when Cherokee names start popping up! Hiwasse, Hiawassee, Hiwassee River, are all derivatives of the Cherokee word "ayuhwasi", meaning meadow. You'll see the name scattered throughout Virginia, the Carolinas, Tenn, and Georgia. I think maybe the term is common in your area due to the Indian Nation Territories of Oklahoma. There were several large Cherokeee settlements that carried that name.

You'll probably see locales named "Mingo" as well. In the Carolinas these were Indian trading points, but strictly speaking the Mingo tribes was based in the Ohio valley. The old trading post near were I was raised was known as Black Mingo as it was located on the Black River.

But the Mingo tribe itself had a fearsome reputation, and were commonly known as the Black Mingo.

Historical tidbits are everywhere!

That does look nice though, sadly once we move inland the only lakes you see are salt lakes which maybe fill once every 30 years or so! Even though we live in a semi rural area we are only 30-40 minutes drive from the sea, 50 minutes from a surfing beach, and and hour from the fantastic Sunshine Coast beaches.

I thought Loch Lomond was in Scotland! Sure we drove past it a few weeks ago!

IIRC the developer was Scottish and the whole area has Scottish names here. Most of the streets are named after cities and towns like Perth Dr, Queensferry Ln, Glasgow Dr and Kinross Dr. Some you have a really hard time even trying to pronounce. lol

One thing that's taken a little to get use to are the streets are not laid out in a grid like back in AZ. It was easy there because the same street (like McDowell Rd) will run from the west valley to the east valley along the same grid changing several cities along the way. Here it's more like the east coast where there's your main one which is a road and then you have several off of that with the same street name like drive, lane, or circle and they change names throughout the community and also once you enter another city.

From what I hear it is good fishing there. One of my neighbors here at the rental has 2 inflatable kayaks and her and her sister go there all the time. She said there's several nice coves you can go into and fish or just check out people crazy (as in expensive) docks and boat-houses along the lake. What's really nice is you can rent pontoon boats and kayaks there for a very reasonable price. The Kayaks are only $14/day and a pontoon boat is only $140/1/2 day.

The largest bass caught in Bella Vista Lakes in Arkansas weighed approximately 10.5 pounds. I can't remember which of the 7 lakes in Bella Vista it was caught in.

The Australian city of Adelaide in South Australia, was properly laid out by an Army Engineer (Colonel Light) it's all in grids and straight lines, and almost impossible to get lost in. Sadly most of the rest mostly just grew!

We spent Thursday and Friday going to the stone shop and picking out the stone for the front wainscoting, column bases and the inside fireplace. We already had an idea of the exterior color that we wanted which is a beige/clay color with white trim, facia, soffit and gutters and so that was easy. The roof we went with a Tamko architectural shingle and the color is called weathered wood which has brown tones and should look good with the siding and stone.

We're still a ways away from getting all the permits approved but I'm glad we're getting things picked out now so there's no delays. I already have all the interior colors, trim and doors picked and. We have 2 different granite colors picked and need to see them because every batch is different.

It's harder for Annie to visualize what everything is going to look like, she's the type that has to see it all up and put together. I've read and bid jobs off blueprints my whole career so luckily I know exactly how this will look. She'll be surprised as things progress. lol

I should think somewhere there's a video tool that would let you do mock-ups with different colors and styles of things?
