if you have a dealer that is actually trust worthy then get the warranty where ever is cheapest. warranty is only as good as the dealers and company that service it.

So my Ford Protect plan expires on 05/24 or 50K miles. Seeing as how I am at 46K miles already, I see it expiring on my next trip. All this talk of transmission issues has me worried.

All this talk about transmissions is all to do about nothing. ASAIK, we had one member with catastrophic failure near 100K. Most naysayers about the trans are overthinking and imagining problems. Like being half quart low on a trans that holds 13 quarts is disaster waiting to happen.
Next thing you know, you will be worrying about fuel in oil issues.

I bought An extended warranty 8yr/100,000 last night online from Granger for about $1000/$200 deductible. Today I got a reminder from Ford in the mail to buy one and the same warranty was about $3500

Well to be fair, the factory usually ships vehicles with dry bones fluid levels and they are usually not topped off when they get to the dealership and prepared for sale.

I'm sure my 8yr or 150k mile warranty will expire right before my drivetrain explodes...
