Interesting you bring this up because I just watched this video the other day. Assuming you take him at his word, IIHS’s stance would be the federal regulations are too low to be relevant. Hard to argue with the results he shows, for example the rollover crush test and the semi trailer crash bars.

Probably, as no one around drives 30, ever. Not even thru school zones.

Isn't that the truth, I live on a wide street (used to be 4 lane, now 2) with a school a block away, I used a speed gun (borrowed from work) to monitor the soccer mom's dropping their kids off. A residential street is 25 mph, and school zone is 15 mph. I clocked over 50 SUV's and trucks and 80% were doing over 40mph with 10% over 50mph, the rest at or near the speed limit. Turned the results over to Traffic, with the result being narrowing strips, bike lanes, and speed bumps, which has slowed traffic down a lot. (although the speed bumps did piss off some residents)

When I was in school, people would BLAZE down the street past the school.. criminal speeding status.

Common sense and decent parenting were a thing when I was in school though.. so none of us played in the street to get run over ?‍♀

Nowadays kids eat tide pods and whatever else... eff it. Cull the dim. It'll do nothing but lead to a brighter future.
