Any other like minded enthusiast out there?

One of my absolute favorite bands out there is called "Polyphia". A very unique sound, sometimes you think there is a machine processing some of the sounds they make, but no it is (to my knowledge) all created by their style. For those familiar I would say they have a unique form of "glitching" they do. It seems so technical compared to the shit rock you hear in the mainstream. Again, none of their songs have any lyrics.

This is one of their more acoustic songs (flaminco under tones) - normally they very much play stuff with metal themes;

Forwarned, the video is interesting haha;

This is why I am also partial to EDM style music, not because I have any interest at all to going to clubs or raves, but because its just music without lyrics to trash it up or hide how shitty the music is.

I might hazard a guess there is no lyrics for a couple reasons....First, they just want to play music, not try and rhyme some sad life experience about a breakup when they were 16. Second, maybe they realise none of them can sing worth a damn.
I believe there are some current bands that should take the second point and seriously consider it.

Every now and again they feature another musician, some of which will sing some lyrics. Polyphia has basically spanned all genres of music just about with guests. Tim Henson (lead guitar) is extremely soft spoken, so yea that is probably not his thing.

Interesting tidbit, from my understanding Polyphia originated as a church band.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say if they ever got popular, you'd tell everyone how you always hated em :surprised:
I don't hate popular things. I would like to hope you regard me as a little more complex and intelligent than "fire bad! fire burn! hate fire!"

Oh yes Plini is great too. Cascade is probably my favorite from them.

Edit: You heard the band Intervals? Another similar style.

Edit2: Plini + Tim Henson;

I bet these guys drop so many panties for being scraggly guys.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that I really like this music. I was wary after you mentioned EDM, as my experience with that genre has been ... less than positive ... I love synthesizers and electronics in music, but automated elevator music is worse than MUZAK... I also hate the modern fad of crap bands wih vapid lyrics performed by auto-tuned vocalists who probably can't actually sing.

These guys are very talented. I was especially impressed with the drummer. But I found a lot to like with this band. Interesting equipment they play on.

Thanks!

P.S. I'm a boomer, and my favorite album of all time is Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon", for anyone who cares...

They recently did a song with Steve Vai of Frank Zappa fame.

No No I do reguard you as more than that. You are obviously very smart. Its just the perceived "Only stuff no one has ever heard of is cool" kind of attitude gets a bit tiring.

I don't recall ever pushing that narrative. I do push the anti Gucci off road angle though. Guilty as charged.

Those guys are obviously technically very good, but its very sterile, no soul, no emotion. They’re probably good at video games too.
